Just building my first Paladin for a Pathfinder AP, and it has come to my attention that a number of the gods lack symbols/icons that are easy to represent with a simple holy symbol. Any suggestions for alternate Holy Symbols for gods like Shelyn who's symbols might be hard to represent in a hand-held icon?

Gods and Magic included pictures of example holy symbols for all the main deities if i recall. Shelyn included.

Her standard symbol (the dove with the colorful tail arcing up over it's back) would work fine on a disk (as would most symbols, really, such as the pentacle of Asmodeus or the leaf of Gozreh).
A hand-held miniature replica of a glaive, entwined with rose-vines and with a blooming rose in front of the blade (vines and rose made of copper, appropriately colored with lacquer or shellac), would make a suitable optional holy symbol. Specially crafted versions of this holy symbol would have a two-dimensional 'rose' relief on the blade of the 'glaive,' and be usable as a dagger. It would be frowned upon to stab someone with your holy symbol, but there are times when any weapon will serve in the defense of love and beauty, and while Shelynites might be peaceful and loving by nature, they aren't naive.
Particularly ornate versions might have the shaft of the 'glaive' be textured like a rose-branch, with some 'leaves' coming off of it, and the glaive-blade be a flattened rose, with petals fanning out to create a serrated-looking blade (as if the rose was pressed in a book, and the petals happens to squash into a blade-like shape). Those carved of wood wouln't be useful as weapons (well, not more than once, likely...), but those of silver, or even stronger metals, might well be serviceable daggers (perhaps with damage die reduced by one, to 1d3 for a medium version or 1d2 for a small version, due to the unsuitable design) in a pinch.
A metal rose by itself would likely not be used as a holy symbol, since it would be too easily confused with the symbol of Milani.

the spectacular ones:
sarenrae, asmodeus, iomedae, lamashtu, torag
every others ar OK except for 2 of them
why a key? but still fine... but a Cup!!!!! o my god, what that? a Cup...
look like silly, i use it only to the tabern symbols, and caydean is only a chief of a guild of bartenders and tavern servers...
caydean do not deserve more (looks like silly one to me)
the usual cross is the best one, why in the games dont took that?
maybe a bit diferent

Some of the Gamemastery Item cards have pictures of Holy Symbols. I'm still trying to determine which ones are in which sets (if anyone knows, please post).
I know that Abadar and Zon-Kuthon holy/unholy symbols are in the Curse of the Crimson Throne item card set.
Each of the other Adventure path card set lists at least 2 holy symbols, and sometimes an unholy symbol.

You can also download them from the Community Use Package for Religious Symbols:

Sean,
Is there a single file with ALL the images and names of each God associated with each symbol?I know this is an older thread but I am hopeful that there is a single files for this. The community use package is nice though it would be a pain to create an image file with all the names of the gods tagging each image in one file ourselves. So i am very hopeful you guys at Paizo have access to this as a single file for us to download? :)

The cross is a symbol of a specific real-life religion, Christianity. None of the in-game religions will use it, for the same reason that Jews, Muslims, Hindus and Zoroastrians don't use it in real life -- because they aren't Christian. While you could import Christianity into your game if you wanted to, there's no reason for the designers of Golarion to do so, and many reasons not to.

Ah, but the cross COULD technically work as an abstraction of Iomedae's holy symbol. Instead of saying it's a "cross" they might call it a "sword," especially if it looks like a Celtic cross or Cross of St. James.
Also, the ankh is a variant of the cross that was popular with Coptics, and the ankh is specifically referenced as a Sarenite symbol. Plus the Sun Cross would be a good representation for her too.
