What non-combat bonuses do you want?

What about a batman utility belt style bonus? Give the PC the opportunity to spend PA during a scenario to say your PC has some non-magical item worth a set amount of gp, or the ability to spend even more PA to have a minor magical item. Perhaps a one use item like a scroll or potion?

What about spending PA during an adventure to suddenly have informants? To stumble across an old friend or something like this?

3 PA and $XXX dollars to have a portrait of your character added to PFS canon (The $XXX dollars is to cover the cost to Paizo to have the art created), at which point your character's icon can then appear on the board (exclusive to you).

8 PA (includes the 3 above): Entry of your character into the PFS 'yearbook' with a listing of chronicles they've been on, and a 'brief recounting' of their heroic deeds.

+1

I love the yearbook idea.

Otherwise I think PA could be invested into titles that give regional social perks.

I particularly like the idea of 5 to 10 PA being spent can make you a local hero. Maybe net you a holiday in a certain town.

Are you meaning it's a magical belt that's a hole in the plot device that cost 2 PA to activate for a 750 gp item you can use in the middle of nowhere?

Otherwise you can already spend 2 PA 1/scenario for a single item up to 750 gp value.

Can't you just spend 1 PA to get a +4 bonus to your gather information/knowledge local check? :)

The native language thing will be changing once the new Inner Sea Guide comes out and is made legal for PFS play. In other threads Paizo people have said that the new book will give the different human ethnicities their native language and "Common" as automatically known, rather than just "Common".

I don't think that you can assume that, though you may be right.

The problem is that, of the 5 factions, 3 of them have Common as their regional language (Taldane = Chelaxian = Common). So characters native to Osirion or Qadira get an automatic (albeit minor) boost.

Since the new book is now legal and added to the Additional Resources, I just wanted to quote the relevant part here for those that have not read the update yet:

humans begin play knowing all listed languages for their chosen ethnicity as racial languages

So thank you, Mark, for taking care of that. I remember how a thread about this a few months back got quite heated about the many ethnicities not starting with their native language.

And Neil, I know it took a while to answer you on this, but it is not just someone from Osirion or Qadira, but any human from anywhere on Golarion other than Taldor, Cheliax, or Andoran that will now know their native language without having to put a point into it.

Yes, I was thinking about something that could be bought in the middle of the adventure. I'm fairly new to the whole PFS thing but I understood that normally the PA needed to be spent at the start.

This is fine as well but informants would ideally be a nice auto success on certain knowledge checks and/or might be reusable in future Pathfinder Society Scenarios should the PC adventure again in this location.

Understood. However, I think that one of the old concerns about using this mechanic was that it would encourage players of the 3 "Common" factions to take characters from elsewhere.

Honestly though, it's one skill rank. So hardly game-breaking either way.
I just wish that my Absalom-born half-Vudran street urchin got Vudran for free! ;) Oh well, at least he already got one of those fancy titles people are asking for.

For one of my characters, a Fighter/Paladin: an official noble title (recovering a disgraced one). Land ownership (this is huge, and probably is required for the former). He's more paladin in his view of himself than his character sheet would indicate, given the multiclass, and some sort of recognition or station from the church of Iomedae would mean a ton to him.

My archivist would want the chance to author a chronicle, or at least a portion thereof.

My witch would want greater arcane power, perhaps spending PA to add spells to her familiar beyond purchasing scrolls.

My Sorceress would desire some position at the Katheer college.

My ninja desires only creature comforts - a luxurious lifestyle when not tomb raiding and demon stomping.

Personally, I'd love for any of them to be included in the fiction, making them an official part of the world. This last one, above all the others, would be best.
