I don't know if this has been brought up, but I think Golarion would be a great project for the Google Maps API.
Consider these maps for two of the Elder Scrolls games:

http://www.uesp.net/maps/mwmap/mwmap.shtml
Imagine if the Pathfinder Campaign setting was done up like this? All the cities, towns, ruins, roads, and any other sites of interest. You could have information in the popup boxes that listed the books and modules that reference it, and a complete city statblock (including society modifiers ala GMG).

This came up about a week ago IIRC.
Basically, yes it will be great. However, you need to use the map from the community Use package here on paizo.com, but in the immediate future (I'm guessing in time with the World Guide) that map will be changing to the new improved Golarion, so people decided to hold horses for a bit.

Wow, that was fast. I went to check out my account there as I was posting above, I hadn't been there in some time and it was up as of Friday at 7:28 AM. Huh....

It seems to go down every other day or so, that I've seen. Did get some time to upload the big community use map and play around with the interface some - maplib seems to have some limitations (limited # of markers per map, no ability to create multiple map layers) that might prove extremely cumbersome in making a Golarion map.
