I was hoping someone could clear up the confusion on item sales for build points. The rules say we can make one economy check per city district per income phase to attempt to sell an item. It also details three different DC's for minor/major/moderate items. My question is this: to sell an item in an item slot, does the item have be be worth more than 4,000 gold? Does the $4,000 gold rule only apply to items found while adventuring?

Rules as written indicate it should be at least 4000gp or you can not let the Kingdom take care of it.
But many a houserule has been that you can "save up" until you reach 4.000, so the players don't have to buy every little thing which is generated in order to free the slot.
Rickmeister is correct. You get nothing if they are less than 4K by the rules.
You can also find many houserules to do other things with item slots. I have mine give bonuses to the economy check, but they can sell every item instead of just 1 per district. +3 minor, +7 medium, +15 major. I don't care what the price of the items is, since I just assume that if it is a cheap item they will sell more than 1 in the month.
Thanks for the info. I think ultimately we will have to decide on some form of houserule to make it work.
