His stat block states he is a cleric 8/sorcerer 8/true necromancer 14...
So how can Kyuss have caster level 20 for both cleric and sorcerer spells?
I thought with true necromancer you had to choose which spellcasting class received a bump up in caster level?
How the heck does he "officially" go from 8 to 20 with both spellcasting classes? On what stat block stuff am I whiffing?

I would chalk that up to his divine status. If you plan to use that for a homebrew, that is the explanation I would use - if gods can´t bend the rules, who can?

True Necromancer was updated in Libris Mortis and works like Mystic Theurge during most levels.
Yup. It improved Arcane casting at 1st and 6th, Divine at 2nd and 7th, and both types at all other class levels.
And then the Necromantic Prowess ability grants him another +4 effective caster levels with all Necromancy spells and spell-like abilities.

I have a pathfinderized version I am willing to share if you need it. I just ask that you don't post it on the boards until after my campaign ends in about 2 weeks hopefully. At the most it should be 3 weeks. I don't want my players finding it by accident. That stats are very similar to the book so there is not a huge difference, but I used mystic theurge levels and did not write down all of the SLA's to simplify the stat block. Just remember that all domain spells are SLA' so you can write down the ones you intend to use instead of using the long list in the book.
