I burned a book once, the chapters I hadn't read, anyway. In my defense, it was to keep warm.

I got to meet the author (and play poker with him). He wasn't very amused about the situation, however.


I found a copy of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare at a garage sell for a quarter, it had been through a fire but only had a bit of soot on the jacket and the pages were slightly discolored.
