during the most resent lull between jobs, the your group has made up your minds to take a small brake from sleeping in caves or on wet ground and to try and find a inn or hunting loge you all could afford

looking at the map, Umbriere Lunas made note that her dear uncle Max had owned a large inn named "The Three Rodes" that seared a rest point for those going aether around or in to the near by moutons. after some peddling from Umbriere Lunas the group made its way to the inn

out side the inn it was clear the ground had seen many coming and goings from the look of wear on the "parking lot" like area in front where caravans had formed a haft cycle in front. the inn it self look to be made out of a old fort with large logs making up its wall and places for archers to take point on its four corners. but for some reason at this point it looked all most empty.

as you all enter you a welcomed by a large fat man with a red beard and fadedly hair who if not for his high would look much like a dwarf.

Boris(the inn keeper):well well welcome to the three rodes how may i help you this fine day please by all means sit have a drink and some food, then please stay and rest.

ok, so i got the party's already traveling togheter.I asked what languages are avaible, since Simona still have to choose hers, but i guess corebook languages are ok?. As for the deities, you already know how to introduce them?We already know all of them(or the main gods presumably)?

Do you want us to write all in the same tonality or you like bold, italic etc etc, to say immediatly a dialogue from a thought and stuff like that

sorry but yes any languages form the core books
as for deities i tried to make a point that there are a uncountable number of gods if it is in portent that your PC have one please make your own. give the deity a profile and a group of ideals, but you don't have to necessary have to fallow your gods every likeness (like a cleric to a god a war and anger can still be humble and calm.
and i don't mind how you write but if it is out of game yes use the blue one

Umbriere Approaches the tall, portly male, [b] "Hello Boris, do you happen to know the current status of Uncle Max? how is he doing? how is he feeling? what is he working on? whatever else you know. his niece stands before you with her band of adventurers, and accomodations are to be sought, as are provisions, a visit to my dear uncle, and an apoethecary to provide further physical inspection. [b] as Umbriere tries to say all this, she has gone through multiple fits of a familiar hacking cough that should be all too recognizeable, a tight feeling in her chest, and a low grade fever.

diplomacy check, take 10

P Nods to the keep. Looking around the place take 10 10+4= 14 perception. "Something to drink please Sir" looking at the keep.

OK, used a deity i wrote for an old campaign setting i ran in 3,5 games;details are in Simona's profile

Simona walks to a bench and sits down, her eyes and ears on Umbriere and her usual attacks.Seeing it is nothing seriuos, she makes herself comfortable. She looses her long, blond, wavy hair along her shoulders and stretches her neck from side to side.
"It has been a weary trip indeed, we could use some good meal and rest.
And i didn't know we were your adventurers Umbriere
"
She smirks to her companion.

Boris(the inn keeper): BY THE GODS AND THEIR MOTHERS! is that you Umbriere why i have hared much about you. here lets get you some tea to help with that cough. waving to a bar maidoh but you want to know about good old max hu?... well i have not hared much about him of late but he is real but he must not be ill he always has a postmen sent hear to gather his profits right on time. As for provisions any family of old Max is family of mine. all though its been slim pickings around here for some time we cant get the merchants to even stop here any more and the other adventurers have drank up most my stock but i will do what i can and if a merchant dose come buy i will do some trading in favor of you and your band.

the others in the group not in conversation see that the the inn has made what was once a garrison hall is now a large bar table still lined up in rows with a large iron cauldron in the mettle that both heats the room as well as provide a hearty stew. the room smells deeply of stew and pine the the only other people in the inn that you can see in this hall is the bar maid making tea , a halfling tending the cauldron ,and a lone hunter nursing a beer and his dog. the size of this hall and the lack of people makes a echo like to a quit church while Boris and Umbriere Lunas talk.

after giving Umbriere her tea the bar maid takes orders from the rest of the party noting that the stew has some fresh rabbets in it thanks to Cody so watch for bones.

"Don't worry girl, i'm sure it will be good.I'm confident we can handle loose bones in the stew"

she smiles motherly putting a large bowl full of the stew full of lose meat, nuts, mushrooms, and red potatoes and a thick mug of beer that smells of pine wood in front of every one at a table

Cody(the hunter) grabs his beer and walks over to the table with Sœkja and Simona and sit down.
( whispering as not to let Boris hear him).you two look like you have a good head on you shoulder why do come hear you have some kinda death wish?

female Chelexian Fetchling bard 1

Umbriere looks towards Simona Simona, I apologize for my unintentional arrogance. and i apologize if you felt like a material possession. please forgive me. i didn't intend to be so abrasive, but sometimes, habits developed through life as nobility have a hard time dying.

she looks towards the barmaid, a few loose bones shouldn't be a problem

as she says all this, her usual coughing attacks occur again. reaching to cover her mouth as appropriate. the tea provided a fair amount of relief for the time being.

Nod in thanks twoard the maid. "Thanks dear." Pulls a few books from his sack and begins reading while he eats. Listening for information.

Boris(the inn keeper) so what brings you and your band here it sure is hell not for the beer,

Cody(the hunter):well look the reason people stopped coming by is because every one who sleeps here wake up the next day with strange scares and not remembering where they got them like some ons cutting up on them wile that sleep some people get really sick even go crazy talking about the cold fingers and people talking in a weird tung.

dc20 to over hear this if you want Umbriere

To Cody, "Exploreing the region for now. Is the hunting well here?" talking just loud enough for him to hear.

Ignoreing umbri

Whispering as well:"Sorry? I don't think i get what you mean"

To Umbriere
"That was irony Umbrie."

Than she starts enjoying the meal

Cody(the hunter): well i think this place is hunted i till you

sorry i will wait longer between post. i just got in to it

Cody: "If you aren't hunting, then why are you here sir?"

We should give Xane the chance to read the beginning, and Lostsoul you posted with the wrong avatar

like the bar maid said i just got back i still come here to trade the furs and meat i don't need then i go back home about a mile south of hear a not far off the rode.

female Chelexian Fetchling bard 1

Umbriere looks towards Boris again, i'm sure i have already told you the basic stuff on the list, but there are a few more things i would like to request. a chance to visit my dear uncle max, any leads on a potential cure for my illness, and news on territories yet to be claimed. what do you know about the Shien Medicine? i can tell you that it goes by many other aliases. the divine elixir, the tea of immortality, the dew of the gods, and countless others. do any of these bring ideas to your mind? she attempts to say quietly without alerting the party. as to prevent further annoyance.

perception check

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Boris(the inn keeper):your uncle Max is quit a way south i might be wroung but this is the farthest north inn he owns and like i said i have not heard from him in a wile.

where are you trying to go with this Umbriere, i am not fallowing sorry. oh and you did not make the check sorry

also i got a phone i can check this therd with so if you post i will be checking through the day

female Chelexian Fetchling bard 1

thank you for what you can mention about my dearest uncle, may i ask if you may please answer my other questions?

i figured that since mortal cures cannot help Umbriere, that she would likely seek the oddball mythological cures that make up legends. i figured the Elixir of Immortality would probably be a good mcguffin to chase after. i just took one of the many chinese names for said elixir. she wants it, not for the immortality part, but it's secondary function of curing all illnesses.

Xane saunters in, her large frame currently in its 'smaller' sized package. She can't but help frown a little at her mistress's condition. Though the smell of food and beverages soon distracts her.

Taking a seat Xane, looks about at the rest of the clientele, trying to get an idea as to who might be inclined towards anything 'physical'.

Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

By 'physical' I mean who is farthest along in their cups. Which fellows/lasses seem most interested in posturing/argumentative and such.

Another party girls-only, well with one male pc. It is the second such party i'm in on this boards

oh ok that makes since

Boris(the inn keeper): oh sounds like your talking about the stuff of stories, but i not the person to ask but there is a old crone at the base of the mountains i have heard that she will do some healing but i would noot bug here for just any reason she is a hermit and likes to be alone.

if you go south for 3 day there is a city on a lake with one to some family loving god

you can hear the tell end of Simona and Cody's conversation but as far as drunks the only other people drinking beside your party is Cody who is neglecting his and the halfling standing over the Cauldron that sunk a shot form a flask

Making a guess that this last one was directed towards Xane. If I'm wrong sorry. (^_~)

Xane sighs, shrugs and relaxes. Happy to have a comfortable seat beneath herself and plenty of good and warm food to eat. The ale she'll happy partake of, but she's mindful of the lessons learned though hard morning after hang overs nd she makes sure to have a large meal before she has anything to drink.

After a while, she moves over to Umbriere Lunas.

"Um...you don't think they'd mind me sleeping in the barn? I could do with some 'stretching out' if we're relaxing for the night..." She asks quietly.

Boris(the inn keeper):(over hearing you says) th rooms we have rooms with 6 beds each. why would you need more room?

your right thats what you got for your check

To the ranger
"Can you be more specific please? I'm always interested in hauntings"

Simona approches the man Cody is his name?

lame i know, but ya that is his name

Cody (leans in and says still at a wispier) here look (pulls at his collar showing a long bubbled up scare going across his shoulder from his back to chest ) i used to stay hear over night but after i got two of these bad boys i made a house out and the woods some one or some thing is cutting on people at night thats why i moved out. i am far from the only one, you stay here for to long and you will get one too. and the dreams.. lady i can hardly sleep with out a hard drink. but it getting dark i got to get going head my worrying.(Cody gets up and heads to the door his dog close behind he sneers at Boris and a judging manner and leaves

Is this something in Cody's tale, or in his wounds that would give Simona some clue?
Can she try a knowledge (arcana, dungeoneering or planes) to try and guess something?

yes Simona and Sœkja can arcana, dungeoneering, and nature if you have then how your roles add to gather will greatly change what you know so role once for each and mark which is which

sorry i mist your post but he would have said the small game is good but the deer and elk have moved out of the area as well as the wolves.

Knowledge(arcana) 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Knowledge(dungeoneering) 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Simona surely remembered something useful with Knowl.dungeon. since her roll of 25, but for future maybe is time and post saving if you add the info in a spoiler, calling the spoiler with the name and the DC of the skill roll, so if the PC rolls high enough he/she can immediatly read the info under the spoiler

oh good point that would be cool but this would be harder to do like that

Simona's eyes only:
you have heard of this kinda happenings around areas with caves to the underdark derro do this a lot but no one knows why they use use poisons to put there targets out as well as make sure they dont remember but some times the memories come bake in dreams

"One last question mr.Cody please:are there caves or dungeons entrance around here?"

Cody(turn right at the door) ya the area is riddle with them some less then a mile north(walks out)

Knowledge(arcana) 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Knowledge(dungeoneering) 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Thinks to himself: Rope trick, definitely rope trick is one of my next spells.

Looks at Simona, "Well tonight should be interesting."

After I have sat ate and rested for an hour I will get up and go for a walk looking for anything of value wihin eyeshot of the lodge until sundown. Taking 20 on my knowledge nature, craft alchemy, craft herbalism, and spellcraft (spell components). 11 is the hunting modifier on all so 31 when I take 20.

Xane frowns a lottle. "I thank'e for you description of yer establishment, but that's not the answer to the question. Is there empty space in your barn and can I spend coin to make it mine fer the night?" Xane arches an eyebrow at the inn-keep, awaiting his answer expectantly.

"The use I be putting it too be no concern of yours. Only know that there'll be no damage and nothing out of place on the morrow."

"Yep Soekja, this inn isn't so quiet as it looks at a first glance.I'ld watch over for caves.Think i'll come with you, just in case, until bedtime"
