Kicked myself into working on writing up some of my homebrew setting's history last night. Got six pages written on the first of the major kingdoms in the setting, and only got through the first couple of millenniums of its history. Still about ~4000 years of history between the point I left off for the night and the time at which my Kingmaker game is set.
Thankfully the history of this particular region isn't too horribly influential on the currently-running game, though I do have a campaign planned later set primarily within it (War of the Burning Sky).

So. Yesterday was a renaissance fair up in the cloisters gor one of the players in the darklight sisterhood game's birthday. As I had never been to the cloisters before, I was excited to go.
Noone told me this was the highest point in Manhattan (which has a small mountain chain running through it).
Noone told me that there are two ways to get to the cloisters (the steep winding path or the sharp angled stairs).
Noone told me it was almost a mile walk from the station.
Noone told me I'd bein this much pain the day after. Will post pics later.
I didn't know they did a ren faire there. I've been meaning to check out the cloisters. Now I know it will be a rough ascent!

the metal bars that were to be instlaled on the bed required these screws to attach them to the bed frame.
The holes in the metal bars were not big enough to accomodate the screws. I had to apply upward and downward pressure on the bars to hold them stable while putting enough downward pressure on them to punch through the metal with main force. It took me about 15-20 minutes per screw to apply enough force to bend the metal around the hole in the metal bar to allow the screw to be screwed in.
it was REALLY annoying.

Yeah, but then he'd still have to be living in New York. :)

In my case, I was using that little tool which aspires to be an Allen wrench. It needed a whole lot of force to turn the screw, but there was just no way to get enough leverage on a 2-inch hex key, so I had to grab the thing with needle-nosed pliers and turn it that way. At one point, my pliers slipped and pinched my finger. Hence, the blood blister.

I looked up the one FHDM was talking about. It is only 1 day, but apparently it gets like 50,000 people. That's a damn big ren faire.
There's one upstate that runs for a longer time though, that I'd like to check out next year.

the upstate one is nice, but has fewer bathrooms and more drunk people. It's also a ways away.

don't hate on us because were beautiful. Hate us because our faire is bigger and we pronounce "houston" correctly.

And no, it wouldn't let me copy/paste. I typed them all because I am amused.

Fixed that "bigger" error of yours.
Also, if by pronouncing Houston correctly, you mean it's full title of Houston, Most Awesomest City in the World! Then I applaud your efforts to finally admit the truth.

Houston (Texas) Is pronounced "HEW-Stun"
Houston in New York is pronounced "HOW-Stun"
And, If I had it explained to me correctly, is also where they get 'SoHo' from (SOuth of HOuston):)
(Apologies to any english teachers. I don't do phonetics.) ;P
the lower pronunciation is correct.

Hope it's one of those paying studies. But even if not, have fun.
And hello everyone on this second day of the week.
Yes a bit.
Well, actually it is a bit for which I regularly eat for a week. Or a single decent but not extravagant dinner at restaurant.
