A master of the hunt's hunting companion shares his favored enemy and favored terrain bonuses. The ranger gains a +2 bonus on wild empathy and Handle Animal checks made regarding his hunting companion. This ability functions like the druid hunting companion ability (which is part of the Nature Bond class feature), except that the ranger's effective druid level is equal to his ranger level – 3. This ability replaces nature's bond.

He can select a different ability during each increment. This replaces woodland stride.

The master of the hunt gains a +2 competence bonus to Acrobatics, Climb and Swim checks. This ability replaces camouflage.
Exquisite Companion (Ex): At 16th level, the hunting companion gains darkvision 120 feet and you may apply one of the following simple creature templates: advanced or giant. This ability replaces improved evasion.
