Who's got some good stories about ridiculous things that you (or other players) have tried to pull in game?

My DM is so bad about rules lawyering we have to stop the game any time a rule question is brought up, even if it's not relevant. Bringing the entire game to a halt, we players do our best not to bring up any rule not in question at that moment. (though i'm the worst about bringing up irrelevant stuff, i'm probably the second worst about rules lawyering)

Back in 2e, we used the player options to create characters, which allowed you to take "flaws" to garner more points to use towards making your character better. A minor flaw for mages (need a focus item) netted 5 points. A more severe one (can only cast spells during the daytime) garnered 10. And so on, until 20 points for something that WOULD mess with you all the time.

Player made a character, and assigned a 20 point flaw. His flaw: "Need air to cast spells." Also had flaws in forms of allergies; Severe allergy to beer (7 points), wine (7 points), liquor (7 points). his character was abstinent, as ALL his characters were, as he was an anal prude who thought less of people who enjoyed a drink. So, NO real in-game drawbacks, and 41 points netted to break the system.

He did not understand why I disallowed all this bull, and changed his allergy to alcohol.

Sounds like less of a rules-lawyer (with my definition of a rules-lawyer being someone who obsesses over knowing and applying the rules to all situations) and more of a munchkin (with my definition of a munchkin being someone who pretty much disregards any intention of fairness within a game, and just tries to be a douchebag.)

I will agree with that. Pure munchkin.

This alone would disqualify the character in my book, let alone all the other crap. Maybe if it was a primarily undersea game. I know someone with a severe allergy to alcohol (it's all anol's, even gasoline, she can't pump her own gas), it's a pain in the ass. New Years eve sucks for her, can't even kiss someone that has drank something.
