I hope this finds everyone well.
I am new to the Pathfinder Society and having created a character would like to put the PC in a thread as soon as possible. As my local city doesn't have any posted gaming opportunities on the calendar, I was hoping to find some online options. I mentioned that I was having difficulty finding GMs online who are running the sanctioned PFS scenario materials that would advance my character and it was suggested that I put up a thread about it in the "Gamer Connection" subforum as well as post a thread here in "PFS General Discussion" with a link to the original. Here's the link to my initial thread:

Any advice or pointers you could give me to help me start gaming with PFS would be wonderful. Thank you for your time and attention. Cheers!

There is a very active Google group called the Pathfinder online collective. There are games there all the time. Join up ! They are offering a lot of low-level games at this time.http://groups.google.com/group/pathfinder-society-online-collective

Thanks for the suggestion! I've joined up and submitted a PC towards a thread just a few hours ago. I appreciate your advisement and if you have any tips you think would be worth mentioning to me, please, feel free to do so. Cheers!

Not JP, but a few tips:
Make sure your computer can handle running the software used for the online games. Test, test, test. That includes both the VTT (Virtual Table Top) and teh voice chat software. The collective uses a few standards, mainly, and a specific GM usually always uses the same software (barring version number) whenever they run.
Before the game: Create your character's setup for the VTT or make sure you get a copy of your current PC to the GM earlyif they create it. If you can, join the game early and test the PC to make sure everything you normally use works correctly.
For many of the VTTs, the GM requests a token, which is the small image used on the maps to represent your PC, as well as your PC's stats.
Reboot your PC and make sure your Internet connection is working okay before the game.
Have something available to drink, preferably non-alcoholic; and possibly something to snack on.
A comfortable chair is a must, you will be mainly sitting in it for 4 hours or more.
Minimize distractions. Turn off the TV, turn down/off the phone ringer; have the spouse take the kids out to the park, etc.
Some of the VTTs allow you to preload the maps at the start of the game. That will greatly speed scene-switching later, and the GM will probably announce if that is possible, and maybe even request it.
Important: Know your character! Be familiar with those things are your character is most likely to use, whether it is to have a cheat sheet with the DC and effects for his memorized spells and any magical devices (wands, scrolls, potions) he has; or to have a cheat sheet written up with his different attack modes calculated out.
For this one, I actually have a printed out spreadsheet for my 9th level archer showing me his options for his normal attacks, so that I can just go, "I attack using these attack options, and my to hit mods are X, X and Y, and my damage adder is Z, so here are the results of my attacks." I once thought it would be simple to track for a decicated archer, but he has two sets of 8 options for his attacks, which numbers apply even being affected by distance to his target.
