But just to be fair you just can't save anything :) So there is no confusion.
Wow, I actually did not know that... that is even better! :)

So for those of you that are "expertised" in using Hero Lab. I want to know has anyone created a bonded item for spell casters within the editor? If so how did you go about doing it?
There are four arcane bonded items already, though they are not intuitive to find. Simply add a magic item to a character and select from one of the four arcane bond items that are already listed near the top of the list. Currently, there are arcane bonded ring, amulet, staff and wand as options.
You will want to open the editor and then make and edit a new copy of this item. You then call/describe the item as it makes the most sense to you. It's generally a simply description and changinh of the displayed text in quotes from within the script, as the item otherwise has no editable properties (unless you give it some).
A wearable item is best duplicated as a new copy off of the amulet. A weapon should be based off of the staff or wand (these items are holdable). There is no need to duplicate a ring. It's a frikkin ring and the default works fine (unless you really want to call it something else like a "Family Signet Ring" or whatever. :)

Tools Menu...Launch Editor.
Create a new file in the editor to begin (File...new).
The editor manual is available from the Help menu in the editor.
The community has put together information on using the editor and HL itself. Go to THIS post as it goes over the most common editor questions and has links to YouTube videos even.
I can also confirm I used HL editor for 6 months creating new stuff and entering house rules and it's fully functional in demo mode.
FYI allot of stuff has been entered by the community for Pathfinder. You can see it all at d20pfsrd.

Doing basic stuff is pretty easy in the editor, and done in 5 minutes. Some of the more complicated stuff requires that you create scripts and attach them to your creation, thats when it gets harder.
But I found often that's not necessary.
When I need to add a feat or something, I can just add the name so I can select it and it shows up, and often enough I can simply add the effect that feat has through the Permanent Adjustment field on the Personal page for example, or at another place.
Not as elegant of course, and not for sharing with others, but works well enough for making your own stuff.

You can do bonded weapons too: put a weapon into your inventory under the "weapons" tab. It will show up as an option for bonded items in your "wizard" tab.
