Hi,
This the idea: the characters start as members of a tribe, that is taken out of their element and forced to survive in hostile and never before seen situations. The tribe is a community of a few hundred mountain folk, most likely human. The selection of classes available is limited to these:
Barbarian, Bard (story teller), Druid, Fighter, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Witch, Oracle, Summoner, in other words, nothing too civilized. However, keep in mind that Druids and Rangers will need work to adapt to the campaign (more on this later), and that eventually the other classes will become available, including psionics in some form or another (from very toned down or unleashed).
It is possible that after the true nature of the campaign is revealed some of you might feel a bit disenchanted, so in order to avoid disappointments I urge you to step in with your mind open to infinite possibilities.
If you are interested, please post away but please note I am being vague on purpose to avoid spoiling things that will be revealed during game.

Seems like an interesting idea, though giving potential players some idea of the kind of situations they would likely find themselves in would probably help; nothing that would give future campaign plot away, but enough of a general idea, like the kind of environment or creatures most likely to be faced, that they have at least some idea of how to possibly prepare for what lies ahead. This way, even if they aren't completely accurate in their preparations, it doesn't come across as the players having no control whatsoever. Starting out helpless and clueless is something that many players will enjoy as long they have some means of not being completely railroaded through the long term campaign.
Edit: This would mainly serve the purpose of avoiding the situation where someone made a character that just did not fit the campaign, like a mounted warrior in a campaign taking placing almost entirely in dungeons or taking a favored enemy that isn't likely to show up in the campaign. Having characters that have to work to survive is one thing, having characters that are never (or almost never) going to be able to do their one shiny trick is quite another.

I understand those concerns, hence my caveat about Rangers and Druids, in general anything that is too attached to the environment will put you at a disadvantage. But as long as you mention what kind of character you have in mind I will make sure that your concept meshes well with the campaign.
I am working on a player's guide of sorts that will help players in character creation.

Sounds really cool, and depending on how my inquiries into other pbp games go, I will definitely be watching this one. What are you considering as available sources. Also, exactly how many traits do characters get? The guide was not completely clear on that.
Edit: The idea of a dwarven witch popped into my head, and seems like it would fit well.

The normal amount is 2 traits, but in this case you also get the free trait I mention at the end of the PG.
Most traits from the APG are allowed as well

I am definitely interested in playing. When were you thinking to run this? You mentioned online. Have you a set time/day? You list bard (story teller), does the savage skald from the APG work for you?
Drayen, day and time needs to be determined but it will most likely be during the evening (PST) or during the weekend, every other week.
And the Savage Skald would be a great fit, so go ahead if that's what you want to play.

I'll start working something up and have it ready sometime tomorrow.
