WoW Warlock Conversion

Well, this should be obvious from the title of the thread: I need a Pathfinder conversion of the Warlock class from WoW. The problem is that I have started playing WoW just a few days ago and I am playing Paladin, so I really don't know what exactly does the WoW Warlock look like. A friend of mine has asked me to convert the class for him because he wants to play it in his group's New Year's Eve game. So - help?

Honestly, if you want to try to do something of THIS nature I would recommend looking at the Witch as a good starting point. They have the nice sinister feel to them that the warlock pulls off.

A warlock in WOW is an arcane caster that can bind devils and demons to his will. It's a pet class, and also has at his disposal a bunch of damage over time spells and direct damage nukes, as well as "taps" - rays that drain life, mana, and soul energy.

I don't know if there is a way to accurately portray this in pathfinder, as most of those abilities do not exist.
I think if he wants the pet aspect of it, it's best to go with a summoner from the Advanced Player's Guide.

My problem is that I don't know what warlock exactly does in WoW, and I don't have enough time to see for myself.

Oh well that's pretty easy.

Warlocks in WoW are essentially demon binders. They make infernal pacts with demons to grant them powers, the exchange life force (or blood) for extra spellcasting power and use quite a bit of disease and negative type energy attacks. They work very much on a level where they debuff their opponents to the point where they can take further advantage of them being weakened to their own spells. They have a decent amount of straight forward damage potential as well.

The best way IMO to try to emulate this is a Witch who takes some of the more offensive (or mean) hexes, pick up improved familiar and get an Imp (Which is the first pet you get as a Warlock) to follow you around and do your bidding. The rest is more/less up to the player to do with the selection of spells. If they want to emulate the Blood Tap mechanic then you should encourage them to look into the Bloatmage Initiate and PrC, while it ends up beginning to warp their body you (As the DM) can easily reflavor it.

Other than that is it pretty much up to the player to decide HOW they want to play the class, do they want to work towards additional binding of demons and devils? If so they can work towards spell focus conjuration and make a knack of summoning fiendish animals and the like. If he wants to play like a destruction Warlock, then straightforward damage spells would work great. Affliction focuses on damage over time effects and disease, these can be done fairly simply through spell selection, and with the way the Witch works he doesn't even really have to "Choose" he can simply purchase up scrolls and talk to other Witches, Warlocks, and Wizards to work up his collection of spells.
