When else would the fey invade but on the longest night of the year?
The Faerie Ring has finally begun! Check out The Faerie Ring: Along the Twisting Way Prelude.
It uncovers the Preternatural Planes where the fey can call home when not vacationing on the Material Plane, several new subtypes of fey, and fey sovereigns and other power players.
The Faerie Ring is ongoing, combining elements of sourcebook, mini-setting, and player's guide. The next chapters are right around the corner.
We have lots of plans for the fey, but we also want to know what you want to see. Feel free to ask us whatever questions you have.

This is just really part of a much larger book. It looks like it will come out in sections. In this part it just talks about fey, in a general over view, their place in the world etc. It was still a good read.

@Mark, Excellent question! In order alphabetical, they are changeling, devata, dream/nightmare, elemental, fata, geist, gloom, gnomekin, lost, mogwoi, peri, sidhe, and yokai. Now, they are only described lightly here, there are no stats. We were very close to putting stats in for a few but decided against it, largely, because we wanted readers to be able to use the upcoming chapters without absolutely needing this one, so each chapter will have any relevant subtype stats included. Also, some of those subtypes won't appear for a while--at least until volume 2--so we didn't want to force the design on those. And that list will grow; at the least, there are a handful that are specifically waiting for volume 2 to be mentioned.
@DM, yes, this is the intro. The remaining 5 chapters in this 1st volume
will be different than this one but similar to one another: they will each detail an individual fey sovereign (or other type of lord) and anything related to them, such as their lands, related fey, player options, and the like. Glad you enjoyed it! :)
It's similar to James Jacob's Demonomicon series in Paizo-era Dragon, which was a favorite of mine and is called out as an inspiration in the preface--except it's for the fey. In a sense, this is the Feynomicon. :)

The fine folks at Robot Viking seem to be enjoying The Faerie Ring: Along the Twisting Way Prelude (PFRPG):
The ideas within The Faerie Ring are evocative and interesting…
The execution is just as good, with excellent writing and an obvious passion for the subject matter that can’t help but get you excited about running a fey-based campaign. The full color art is great and would not look out of place in a book by one of the big RPG publishers…
And Dark Mistress reviewed it at EN World and Paizo, giving it 5/5 stars:
It does a very good job in capturing the complex nature of the fey, making them both alluring and scary at the same time. This gives just a taste of the fey leaving you wanting more…
See why the mighty Jeff Grubb says (from the foreword):
The kindly ones are back, and they are far from kindly. The wee folk have returned, and they are not as wee as centuries of propaganda would have you believe. They are as dangerous a group of lords and ladies as you would ever care to encounter, and they control their lands. Woe to any mortal who crosses them without their permission.
