Could you take ten minutes to help a university psychology project?

Hi all, if you have ten to fifteen minutes spare the more responses that can be gathered on this the better the quality of the research in the area will be. To avoid the Hawthorne effect the purpose of the survey is only explained in the debriefing at the end of the study.

You will need to install a plugin and you will need to be using Firefox.

Thanks in advance!

I am using Firefox, but the plugin seems to not be working.

Plugin does install at all.

What I found was that you had to manually install, and that for some reason the .exe file takes a while to take.

It does work eventually though, I just ran a handful of people through it over MSN.

Even if you can't get it working, thanks for the effort :)

Scarab Sages

Sorry, even after manual installation it won't work for me. If you find a solution, let me know.

I think the experiment is to see how many people will attempt to do this.

Liberty's Edge

Will attempt when I get home today, AK. I'll have to install Firefox (blargh, Chrome rules!), but for you, I'll do it :-)

The manual install genuinelly works, I had to click it a few times and I expect people might need to 'Run as Administrator', this is not a trolling effort :(

Thanks Jer!

Sorry, but no. I do run as administrator, I tried several time, I even get the plugin to install. Unfortunatly, when I restart firefox and return to the site in question, firefox informs me that I need to install one or more plugins to show all the media on the site.

Weird, it worked for me. Did you close everything before running the installer?

All done. Was a bit of a hassle getting the plug in though. I eventually resorted to 'save link as'. Long wait while it initially loaded too. Almost gave up at that part. You have a typo on page three or four (early on). You say to 'real' the instructions when you must want us to 'read' the instructions.

Do we get to find out your conclusions after you've analyzed the data?

Works fine in Opera web browser too. No trouble installing plugin either.

Its my girlfriends project but sure i'll post up her conclusions :)

Thanks for the effort guys!

Edit: Oh yes- my girlfriend's supervisor typed out the instructions, he blitz-types at some ridiculous word-per-minute and makes several typos...
