Eastern Front Studios is Up and Running! Check out one of the newest and most dynamic fantasy product lines to come along this year.

We are a group of miniature enthusiasts, we like them so much that we started our own miniatures company! We feel that most miniature companies make so many figures of the same subjects that they all seem to all look alike. Our approach is to produce minis of unusual subjects or of common subjects done in unusual way. We think you will like our take on the “same old mini” and on our never-been-done-before minis.

Our sculptors include seasoned professionals such as Jim Johnson, Jason Wiebe, Drew Williams and talented newcomers like Massimo Zamboni, Leandro Ventric, Alejandro Ramirez. We currently have 5 lines of figurines. ‘Dungeon Crawl‘ is a series of miniatures suitable for any fantasy role playing or fantasy war game. ‘Fathoms Deep‘ is the line of miniatures for our Fathoms Deep underwater skirmish game that is under development, though most of the figures will work equally well in other fantasy games. ‘Myths of Legend‘ a line of 54mm scale figures of gods and mythic heroes. ‘Battle Scar” a line of minis on slotted bases to fit into your favorite fantasy war game. ShadowPort a line based on our upcoming RPG world and products.

Free shipping on all orders through 12/31/2010

Those are pretty great. I particularly like the Fathom's Deep paints. Never been all that interested in an underwater campaign but those could make me change my mind. And, your Dungeon Crawl paladin's about the closest mini I've ever seen to the Pally I'm currently playing. I think that one might be a must-have for me. Good luck with everything!

Nice work, honestly. I've been spoiled by the prepainted plastics I'm afraid. I really do like the originality though. Especially the female warforged, that's the first female warforged I've ever seen, I may have to order one of those, just to have it in my collection. :)

I wonder though, just what is going to happen to the mini's market in the next ten years. Three-D fabricators are just getting down to about $5,000 per (for the fabricator). There's even plans on-line for one that can build itself a clone with parts. Once the costs of the plastics and resins that the fabricators use comes down due to scale of economies, how likely is it that miniatures companies will have to switch to selling plans instead of actual miniatures?

Not trying to dump on your new business, congratulations on it, and I hope it does well. It's just the first time I saw a 3D fabricator on TLC that cost under 5K, the first thing I thought about was making my own plastic/resin mini's.

Most fabricator-output parts I've seen (especially the ones from less espensive machines) haven't really had anywhere near the quality of a nicely sculpted and molded mini...a fact that would really show up when that fabricated mini was painted. I think it'll be a few years before you could take one and paint it up without a *lot* of work to clean it up.

Even when they do get there (and I think they will) mini makers are still going to have designs that rock harder than your average gamer can develop on her own. True they might have to employ more 3D artists than physical sculptors at that point - but that's probably a benefit because there are more gifted 3D artists out there than mini sculptors.
