I'd be up for giving it a go. I love me the Bards. I'm thinking a Human Bard, arcane duelist build. Probably a street kid who grew up in Riddleport, working as a runner for the thieves guild. As he got older and a little more charismatic, he was moved to a face role: he was the guy who came into your shop and let you know that bad things would happen if your protection money wasn't paid on time. He got so good at his work that the need for actual muscle declined until the local muscle decided to up their take by taking out the face man. They broke his legs and left him beaten and for dead near a small inn. The innkeeper's wife found him, took pity on him and brought him inside to heal. While there he became enraptured by the power of song and magic that the bards who frequented the place could summon. He learned from them and is now looking to make a new life that doesn't involve getting his legs broken. While he can sing like a songbird, his upbringing still nudges him toward the more martial aspects of the class.

I'll assume you want a bard for the social skills.
In which case can I present Clifford Strauss , hobbit gentleman based on the gamblers in old westerns ?
He is an independant trying to make a life in Riddleport by his wits.
He was in fact already in a second darkness Pbp who fell through at the beginning (:

I have an idea for an errant Taldan cavalier who's working (somewhat covertly) for the heiress to the throne of Taldor (I can't recall her name at the moment). Well-practiced in etiquette and diplomacy and always standing on decorum, his mission is to gather allies for his would-be-queen. It's not a quest with any real time frame. He's supposed to be traveling the land performing heroic deeds in the name of Taldor, and more specifically in the name of his liege, not Stavian III's. He actively renders aid to others in exchange for future favors and hopes to build strong relations for an uprising that may occur five, ten, or twenty years down the line. Probably part of the Order of the Lion, though Order of the Sword could work too.

I would be interested in joining a Second Darkness game and would like to present Andrezi Zeldana for consideration. He was originally built for a Curse of the Crimson Throne game, but I have done a bit of modification to make him more appropriate for Second Darkness.
As far as background goes: Andrezi grew up as part of a Varisian caravan. He learned some the more mundane aspects of the Harrow from his mother, who was the caravans mystic. He learned a few of his less reputable skills, including how to play Towers, from his brothers and uncles.
Andrezi and a girl named Mikayla had fallen deeply in love. Mikayla was the caravan leader’s daughter, and she was promised to the son of a rival caravan’s leader. Mikayla and Andrezi kept their affair a secret for as long as they could, but they were eventually discovered. The caravan leader was furious and wanted Andrezi dead for his “trechery”.
Mikayla saved Andrezi’s life, but at the cost of her relationship with Andrezi and Andrezi’s heart. Mikayla had relented to marry the man to whom she was promised, and Andrezi was banished from the caravan. Andrezi packed his few belongings and left the caravan.
Andrezi settled in the Rotgut District of Riddleport, making a living by gambling throughout the city, and running a few con-games.
He finds himself with enough spare coin to enter the “Cheat the Devil and Take His Gold” gambling tournament, and has done just that.
I'm not sure where you all are in the story, so I set him up as if he was starting out at the beginning.
I am in a number of other games, and can post daily, and more so if the game is moving at that pace.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my submission. Good luck to all of the other applicants.

Thank you all for your interest and great character concepts, but unfortunately we can only pick one player.
James Martin’s Human Bard, arcane duelist gets the nod.
