Whitesmoke Translator, WTF?

I'm guessing I've been hit by a virus, based the way it's acting. My system keeps loading a login page for Whitesmoke Translator, and it won't let me do anything else.

What's the best way to get ride of this garbage, and make sure it doesn't come back?

What functionality do you have.

Can you get into safe mode with networking successfully?

If not, can you get to safe mode?

I'd suggest disabling all services with msconfig and turn on only the ones you absolutely need.

I'm not the most computer literate person. I have a Toshiba PC that's running Windows XP.

If you can give me a rundown as to how to get to safe mode, I'd be grateful. :)

Hit F8 when booting (starting up the PC)

It might not be F8- rinse and repeat with the F keys until you get it.

Confirm whether your on your machine right now? The assumtpion I have is that you can't do ANYTHING on your PC as it comes up right after login.

If you can get to the control panel, first attempt to get rid of it via Add/Remove programs.
