Being one of the (apparently about five) Eric Masterson fans, I was wondering if anyone else picked it up?
Spoilers on #1

Spoiler:
It's not clear from the intial line that Eric wasn't back, but thats' straightened out, apparently.

I *do* like that Kevin got the mace. Steve's right, it is his.

I *don't* like the teen angst POV. Kevin knew who his dad was, and accepted it.

I'd forgotten how much I like the shape of that mace. You can have your Mjoilner replicas. I want a Thunderstrike mace.

At least the artist remembered that Eric was left handed, looks like Kevin is too.

Well, Thor was really the only Avenger without a 'young avengers' analouge. I'd love Kevin to meet Patriot and/or Nomad.

I'm going to have to check this out. It seems interesting.

I guess I am among the five then. I have the full run of the original Thunderstrike series.

I loved how Eric was never really comfortable being a hero, yet he still did it. I look forward to seeing how this series plays out.

To be honest, I have been hoping Kevin would get the mace since the end of the original series.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Well hell, looks like I'm going to have to start buying a Marvel comic again.

I loved the original Thunderstrike comic and was very pissed when they killed him off.

Same here (I have the full run too). But... It was a good death. Not a shock death (Nightcrawler) or a pretty obvious death (Brother Voodoo) or a 'show the villain is REALLLLLYYYYY evil (Jason Choi, Gehenna). As much as I love Eric (I even have the heroclix) I don't want a cheap resurrection. I like that he's not in Dead Avengers, I think it shows he's at peace.

Dark Archive

Wait, there is a new Thunderstrike miniseries? I am very upset that my local comic shop is not carrying it.

Was aware that this was coming out, but my comic order has taken a hit [was either that or my paizo orders lol]

Was a huge Thunderstrike fan from when Eric was Thor to into his own series... may well have to take a wander and pick this up...

Are they setting up a new "status quo" for Kevin as Thunderstrike or are there hints to his fathers rogues gallery?

Looks like we have our 5 fans + and totally agree with you to Matthew - something so aesthetically pleasing about that mace... want one too!

I have put that mace (or rather a slightly weaker variation of it) in games before as a minor artifact - quote and all.

Issue 2 is out, Kevin has a teacher, and, whether he likes it or not, he's becoming a hero like his dad.

Spoiler:
His parents try to explain Eric's 'look' to him, and Grunny seems to hint that he can influence the appearance of his transformed self (makes sense). We also find out why he was fighting in school (and I can't blame him)

Loving the comic so far. The cover of the second issue could have been more cheesecakey, though.

Hmm, I have already made a thor's hammer. Maybe I should try to make thunderstrike's hammer as well.
