Here is a Scenario Tracker I made to track what scenario my players have played so I can better schedule events.
I hopes it will be useful to others so I uploaded it to Google docs and I am going to share it with you guys.
Sorry for those that don't have Excel, I lost to much transferring it to Google Doc format so gave up on that for now.
Post here if there are any issues with the link.

Thanks for sharing. I also use Excel to keep track of adventures run here. My sheet is inverted (players as columns) but I have to admit I like your solution better.
I do a few stats as well (how often played) and keep track of characters. Don't have the time right now - but I will give it some thoughts how it could be added to your sheet - or mention it here in case someone else is adding it.

I keep track of the other stuff you mention on Obsidian Portal, I was originally doing the same with this to, but it was to awkward and I had to write the HTML code over again every time I added something to the simple table I had up, This is much easier and just linking it to my Obsidian Portal Page.
What do you mean about how often Played?

[Obsidian Portal Page.
What do you mean about how often Played?
A simple countif statement that counts how many scenarios a player has played. I still need to change it to individual characters.
This allows me to keep track which level the characters are. It helps me to select the best scenario/tier for the next game.
No - it couldn't handle replay right now - if this is what you think I was relating to.

Here is a sample copy of what I've been using. The mods count and level calculations happen if you add a mod as played. It's been working just fine for us :)

Here's my Google Docs solution
I have one line per scenario where we keep links to all the scenarios and their current rankings for GM review. The other pages contain character information for the local players. It's not yet up-to-date with my latest five players, but you get the idea.

How did you get the name of modules listed diagonally?

I'm currently putting together a Google Spreadsheet myself to help Georgia PFS players keep track of everything. I just started today and am looking for ways to make it better. I do need to find some way to designate what Tier each scenario is at.
Georgia Scenario Tracker Example
I decided to go with Google Docs so that other GMs could input their players information, since the Atlanta area sees a lot of players travelling to the different lgs. It's not as clean as I could do it in Excel (nor offer the same functionality), but I think the trade-off of accessing it from anywhere makes up for that. If you'd like to copy it, feel free.
PS. There is a countif at the bottom to count up how many different scenarios a person has played or GM'ed.
|
I just had an idea for my spreadsheet that may work for yours. Instead of putting a 'y' in each box a person has played or GM'ed, put in the character # instead. That way, you can do separate countifs at the bottom to count the totals for different characters.
So I could go in and create a row saying "Character 1 Played / GM'ed" and so on and so forth.
I think I just might add in that functionality right now.

The tracker now has the ability to see how many scenarios a character has completed, either thru playing or GMing. It also calculates the level of that character. For instance, if you put in '1' in all the scenarios you've played / GM'ed, it tallys them up, and then will calculate the level of that character (same thing goes for entering in '2' everywhere.
As a bonus, it can tell you if a character is dead. By entering in '1-' or '2-', the character level square will look and check to make sure the character isn't dead. If they are, that square will return 'DEAD'
I doubt I can get to this today, but a cool idea I thought up is to see about using Google Docs to create a form to fill out that would automatically fill in the appropriate squares for players and GMs. I think that one is going to be a headache, but we shall see.

And no, none of the other Venture Captains can bring Joe into their lodge. I've cast a geas on him and he can't leave Atlanta ;-)
Sorry guys, looks like staying in Atlanta!
Anyway, I updated the sheet. I added a row at the top to input Society #s (this might be useful later for form entering, also just nice to have).
I also added some commentary (if a cell has a golden orange marker in the upper right corner, hover your mouse over it)! It gives a tiny explanation of what to do / what the cell is doing.
I also made it free for people to fiddle around with it or save as an Excel spreadsheet (that is if you click the link in this thread). I have another version it saved elsewhere, so have at it!
I will still make updates to it as I think of things / figure out how to make more things work. I wish I could us VBA coding on Google docs :(. Then I could do all sorts of crazy sorting and manipulating... /sigh.
Hope this is helpful to you guys!
UPDATE: Uh-oh, I can run scripts in Google Docs. Prepare yourselves!

So I updated the sample tracker again. A friend brought up some good points to me today. First off, how do you designate playing a scenario and receiving play credit, but not character credit? Since that means you don't apply the sheet to your character, I would like to designate a person playing a scenario one time without getting credit with just an 'x'
Secondly, PFS used to allow you to play a scenario again for credit under the play play play rule, but they stopped that practice. But if you had 2 characters play the same scenario before they changed the rule, they still receive the credit (because they were grandfathered in). The spreadsheet can now handle that. If you had two separate characters play the same scenario and received credit, enter in "#,#." The summation at the bottom will recognize what you're trying to say and calculate things accordingly. This one was one of the harder things to do on the spreadsheet.
Making these changes, I kind of lost my little commentary. I'll go in and add them again tomorrow. I hope you guys find this budding project useful.

Another update:
I added the ability to track how many times a person has GM'ed a scenario, regardless of credit received. This way, you can know what your GM ranking should be (which is also shown at the very bottom of the spreadsheet).
Please note the comments in the spreadsheet on how to enter information correctly.
BTW, I implore all of you to take my spreadsheet, download it, upload it to your Google spreadsheets, whatever! I'm doing this for everyone! If you have specific problems or questions, respond back to me and we'll get a dialog going on how to handle the situation.
Like I've stated, I ideal would love this to become a tool for any GM to select players in their area and see what scenarios to run that no one has played. Or after you're finished playing, all you do is enter in information and it automatically stores it in the spreadsheet.
I know I could probably do this in an actual online database, but I didn't go to college for CS, so some things are amiss to me.
