Ward to sound Spell

Homebrew and House Rules

Alright, I don't know if any of you have read The Wheel of Time series, but what I'm getting at is the wad to spell weave they use in the series.

Basically a spell that prevents sound from escaping from a small area. primarily used to allow private conversation.

I'd like to say it would be a 30 foot sphere and be a 0th lvl spell...... But, due to it large potential power, I don't think 0th lvl is fair. So I'm guessing it would be better set up as a 1st lvl spell.

What do you guys think? Would it be fair to put as a 0th lvl spell, with comparable power to other spells?

If the spell only allows for private conversation then level 0 or 1 works, but if it shuts down spell casting, and/or blocks sonic based affects then the level should be higher.

There is such a spell - Zone of Silence - Bard 4. That's the perfect stealth spell.

Yea but lvl 4 is way too high to just use for privacy.
