Hey All,
I'm about to start the Legacy of Fire Campaign, and I'm looking to do some research on the races of Katapesh, in particular the main human races of Garundi, Keleshites, and Varisians.
I am looking to establish the real world comparisons which the guys from Paizo got their inspirations.
I think the Varisians are obviously inspired by Indian Culture. But I'm a bit mixed as to the other two.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Varisians = gypsies, Keleshites = Mid-Easterners (I think), and Garundi = northern Africans (Morrocco, Egypt, etc., I think), as far as the real world analogs of those. Vudrani are the Indian analog.

Yep, sounds about right. I'm no expert but to me the Keleshites seems like a mix of Ancient Persians and Arabs.

Are Osiriani an ethnic group, though? The PFCS doesn't list them as one, and a quick glance at some others suggests Osiriani are ethnically Garundi with a Keleshite minority.
And Garundi are definitely northern African in feel. Mwangi are the sub-Saharan African analog.

Osiriani are a cultural group. Majority Garundi with a Keleshite minority.
Mwangi are the sub-Saharan analog with four primary subgroups (Zenj, Bekyar, Bonuwat, and Mauxi).

That's what I thought.
What I'm curious about is...when we get more detail about Tian Xia, will we get subgroups of Tien? Cause that's a lot of groups to stick in one ethnicity (assuming that at least a fair number of Asian countries have analogs). >_> <_<

In the main world book hardcover, they already do divide the Tian Xians up into ethnicities. They have the 'mainstream' Xians, who are basically the Han Chinese; the folk of Minkai, who are Japanese (and maybe Korean?); some folk from Mongolia; and Southeast Asians of the Khmer/Viet/everyone else variety.
And as for the Varisians, while they can be described as 'gypsy', I figured them for more generic 'Eastern Europeans' from the Balkan states, given their dwelling in the Transylvania-expy of Ustalav.
