Been dwelling on the Summoner's Aspect ability lately. Summoners can take a small number of evolution points from their eidolons and apply evolutions to their own bodies.
Got to thinking about summoners who as much about crafting themselves as much as their eidolons, and all the other ways this can be done through other forms of magic and science in Golarion.
If this form of "transhumanism" ever took off as a movement of any sort, where would it be most likely to start? Just how many options are there to approach rebuilding yourself into something different? How would Golarion's various societies likely react? Etc?
Nex sticks out as an obvious choice for it to crop up, though likely never to be fully embraced nor persecuted.
Hermea might apply certain aspects of it, maybe, but it's highly unlikely that they would deviate more than a little from a human baseline considering Mengkere's goals.
Numeria offers a ton of exciting and frightening possibilies with both magic and crazy alien super-science. I'm seriously considering setting up a cultish religious sect of the Technic League in my Golarion that focuses on exactly that.
I've been playing with the idea of an isolated island civilization comprised almost entirely of natural Summoners, whose crafting of themselves and their Eidolons is both a religious calling and an art. The level requirements kind of stick in the way of that. I'm considering working around that with traits for their specific civilization.
On the matter of the gods, if any were to become patrons of such pursuits, does Brigh strike anyone else as the natural choice? Kind of leans away from her technologic image, but technology isn't the all she's about, right?

Thinking on the island civilization some more, I'm wondering if it might be best to just make a new class, either PC or NPC, that uses the evolution mechanic on the character itself and possibly allowing it the ability to use evolution points on other willing targets at higher levels.
All of the evolution options for Eidolons may not be appropriate for them, and maybe they should have some more. If it's for NPCs the evo point pool definitely needs to be cut down, but I'm not certain by how much.
Hm.

Nameless island nation is definitely going somewhere between Nex and Jalmeray now, most likely formed from an ancient Nexian colony that developed and embraced their own magical disciplines. Almost entirely of Garundi descent, though the generations of magical tampering with their own bodies might qualify them as their own small distinct ethnicity.
New evolutions geared towards practicalityi are being added to the evolution options for the unnamed NPC class, like water breathing, etc. And some stuff that the average person likely doesn't need will probably be pulled out entirely(like DR, unless there are some good non-combat oriented practical uses for it, which there may be with things like dangerous labor, mining, etc).
Primary god of the culture is likely Nethys, though re-interpreted as a being in constant metamorphic flux rather than torn between diametrically opposing urges of destruction and creation. Still shopping for good alternatives.
