Question about the Red Box and Essentials line

If I'm planning on gettin the essentials line minus the Red Box will I be missing something? I'm assuming the the two PC essentials line books will cover anything that is in the Red Box. Is that right?

I don't think you'll be missing anything. The Red Box is designed to be an easy introduction to the game, but all the rules are available elsewhere. It doesn't have any rules for characters beyond 2nd or 3rd level. You should be able to make any of the characters with just the player's books.

Skip it. The red box is only a tool for new players and does not seem to have any exclusive content that I've noticed.
