So how doe you pronounce Saventh-Yhi?

Dark Archive

I believe it's S-ah-ven-th Yee

It could also be

Say (rhyming with 'day')

venth (as in 'tenth')

Yee ("see")

Or it could be as Alex Draconis mentioned, with the first syllable being

'Sah' instead of 'Say'. Either could work.

Shadow Lodge

I prefer a slightly modified pronounciation:

Say-venth Hyi

Just as in "properly" pronounced English where words like where, what and why are pronounced Hwere, Hwat and Hwy, I can see Yhi pronounced as Hyi as an interesting derivative (however unofficially incorrect).

Personally, I've been mentally pronouncing it as...

SAV-enth YEE

...with the first part rhyming with "salve" or "have"...

...I called it that while discussing Sanctum of the Serpent-God with James and Wes at GenCon and neither of them corrected me. But maybe they were just being nice and humoring an overeager freelancer?

The correct pronounciation is:

saa-vinth-YHEE

Rhymes with: nah-plinth ME

Thanks!

Ok, now try "Ydersius" on for size.

yuh-DER-see-us

(The "yuh" is a lot shorter a syllable than the other three)
