Hi folks,

I've decided to run a "Rise of the Runelords" campaign over at www.roleplaymarket.com, and I'm currently recruiting for 4-5 players who either haven't played this AP before, or are able to separate player knowledge and character knowledge. I'm making a bunch of changes anyway, and will likely bring in elements from other APs (notably Kingmaker, but likely other sources as well).

A bit about me - I'm a relative newcomer to these boards, but not to Pathfinder or PbP GM'ing. I am able to post daily and I'm looking for a fairly fast pace for a PbP game - please make sure you are interested in a daily post and can play for the long term before applying. The game will start in late August, so you have some time to kick around a concept. Character creation rules are posted on the game board, but essentially it's Core rulebook, APG, and Pathfinder sourcebooks; any 3.5 Paizo books are probably OK but check with me frirst to Pathfinder-ize them. I'm also considering the "racial substitution levels" from 3.5 on a case-by-case basis... always loved that idea.

To apply, go over to www.roleplaymarket.com and sign up for a (free) account, and submit a character concept over there. The game will start in late August or once I've found the right 4-5 players and characters.

Man, I've been hoping to find a RotR pbp campaign. I can only post on the evenings EST during the week but I can definitely manage a post every day.

I'll go check it out over at roleplaymarket tonight and put in a character concept.

I do not know that site, will have to check it out

I am want in please! Need another outlet for my gaming desires. However I am unabke to checkout that site due to being at work currently and using my cell. Please, if possible hold me a spot.

Grand Lodge

For those who haven't seen this site, it's pretty nice. Has a great combat map feature that is VVT-like: players can move their tokens around on your map, and click on other tokens for information. Also has an initiative tracker, etc. Saves a lot of time.

Monkeygod - no rush, so head over when you can and submit a concept. I am avoiding "first-to-the-trough" selections.

Count me in! I am a relative newcomer to this site as well, not to 3,5 rules which I played many years ago. Maybe it was 3e rules... Since that time about a decade ago when we stopped playing pen & paper I kinda drifted away from rpg'ing. (I know it probably sounds horrible to some of you that I felt I became to old to spent quality young adult years with that, but I've had a lot fun with other stuff in those ten years.) Still have many of my old books. Have read up on the Pathfinder Rules have access to the nescesary material, and have been waiting for an opportunity to join a good pbp game.. Will head there immediatly and set up an account. Looking forward to digitally rolling dice and declaring my character's actions in text heheh!

I am interested as well and will create a char on the site.

Done. My username at roleplay market is Sharantalar, gonna read up on the relavant material and create a character to submit for your game. Anything you wanna say about character creation before I begin creating a 1st level PF sumn sumn...?

Please count me in on this one! I've been very interested in playing RotRL!

Here are a few character concepts that I would like to explore (reposted from another thread to save time)

Requesting to Join
---------------------
Your Age: 25

Are you an experienced gamer?: Been playing 3.5 and similar systems for about 4 years now.

How familiar are you with Pathfinder?: Been playing Pathfinder for about a year.

Can you handle a game that might go from cliche, to dark, to wherever the GM feels like taking it?: The GM is the storyteller, and my PC is only a part of the story. He goes wherever the story goes.

Can you write a good post?: I consider myself a competent author, and I'm confident in my ability to convey the dialog and details of my character in an organic manner that breathes life into the setting without hijacking the story.

Show me: (Basic Fighter type character) Jave tread lightly, eyeing his reptilian "guide" with trepidation, and taking great care to step only where the kobold scout did. He trusted the lizard only as far as he could throw him (which, admittedly, was farther than most), but stayed his hand for now. So far, the creature was playing nice, and even Jave had to admit that he and his companions would have been lost without its help. Still, he kept a hand on his sword hilt and an eye out for ambush. Whatever surprises this dark forest held, he intended to be ready.

Can you get along with others?: Absolutely! After all, trouble loves company!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----

Kingmaker or Serpents Skull?: Preferably Serpent's Skull, but I'll be happy with whatever I can get :)

Kael, Son of Seas:

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Alignment: Chaotic good.

Height: 6' 1"

Weight: 180 lbs

Hair Color: Light brown, but bleached by the sun

Eye Color: Vivid green

Skin Tone: Bronze

Forseen Class: Aquatic druid

Description and Personality: Kael was born amidst a maelstrom. Aboard the research vessel Daughter of Dawn, Kael came into the world by accident, the product of a whimsical night of passion in what would turn out to be sincere yet short-lived romance.

Kael's father, Bastion, was a successful and famous researcher and chronicler, a man who devoted his life to uncovering the secrets of a lost age. He possessed a keen mind and a strong intuition, and had a habit of making those around him fabulously wealthy. This trend quickly made Bastion friends with several would be "merchant princes", those men and women with the coin to associate in the sort of social circles where normally only nobility would suffice.

His mother, Celeste, on the other hand, was very familiar with such circles. Born of both money and exquisite genetics, she was the favored daughter of a powerful noble house, and as such, was expected to uphold her royal duties and marry based on station. However, she could not ignore Bastion's handsome face, his wicked charm, or his complete disregard for the trappings and bureaucracy of nobility.

It was this disregard that would prove to be Bastion's undoing. On that fateful, stormy night, with his eloped and very pregnant wife, Bastion was on the verge of a monumental discovery that would rewrite history, a breakthrough that threatened to undermine the current monarchy and unseat them from power, forever altering the political and religious landscape in Golarion. Alas, the rumors of this discovery proved deadly enough, as the noble houses dispatched a ruthless band of pirates to overtake the Daughter of Dawn and eliminate everyone on board.

Everyone, except for one.

To this day, Kael does not know how he survived, a fragile newborn tossed into the angry depths of the sea. But over the years, he has been able to piece together his early history.

He miraculously washed up on a tiny island deep in the heart of the ocean. He was rescued and taken in by the island's inhabitants, a nomadic fishing people who thrived off of the ocean and traded in its exotic bounty.

Growing up as the only pale skinned boy in a village of brown bodies was not easy, and as an outsider he was relegated to slave status, where he was given the most strenuous and deadliest of duties, and forbidden to arm himself. Kael, though, was a resourceful child. With nothing more than a simple fishing spear, he learned to defend himself against dangers, both above and below the water. He took to the sea like a fish, far outpacing the other boys, and grew so comfortable in the water that the villagers would say he had more in common with the sea spirits than he did with land folk. This newfound talent had another unexpected yet lucrative consequence: Kael found he excelled at the villages most profitable and dangerous task - pearl diving.

He went out farther, dove deeper, and held his breath longer than even the village's most experienced divers, and as such, Kael became a profitable commodity to the villagers, and was afforded a measure of respect among their ranks. Kael kept the largest and rarest of his pearl findings in a secret cache, and used his newfound wealth to buy clothes, gear, and most importantly information.

It did not take long to catch stories and songs that sang the sorry tale of the Daughter of Dawn and her ill fated crew, specifically Bastion and his pregnant bride. After years of rumors and here-say, and even purchasing a few books on the subject, Kael set out to find the remains of his family.

Now a young man, Kael seeks to align himself with others like him, mercenaries for coin or lovers of adventure who will bring him one step closer to uncovering the truth behind his parents death, and possibly the secret that his father was willing to die for.

Background (include what campaign trait you might use): SS: After recovering his father's journal, Kael seeks to pick up the famed explorer's trail, which inevitably leads him to Sargava. He found employment as a crewman aboard the Jenivere, where he proved invaluable while performing underwater repairs on the vessel. (Jenivere Crew)

KM: Recently uncovered documents show that Kael's mother, Celeste, had claim to a large estate somewhere in the Greenbelt of Brevoy. While his mother forfeited her title when she eloped with his father, her claim should still prove legitimate. Kael now seeks to press the claim as his own, by whatever means necessary, even if he must tame the land himself. (Bastard)

Secrets/Plots hooks: The secret discovery that Kael's father made could prove to be any number of things. Also, a certain noble house might be alarmed to know that Bastion's only son survived their assassination attempt, and now seeks to continue his father's work. Such a threat cannot be allowed to live, especially when he runs the risk of exposing the murderers.

Bregan, the Swarm Singer:

Gender: Male

Race: Gnome

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Height: 3' 2"

Weight: 44 lbs

Hair Color: Stringy White

Eye Color: Violet

Skin Tone: Pale

Forseen Class: Vermin-centric Blight Druid. (to really make this one work, I'd need your permission for a couple of things. I would take the Vermin heart and Vermin Companion feats from the Campaign Setting, but I would like to use a swarm as my animal companion rather than a single creature, similar to the Mite's Vermin Empathy class feature.)

Description and Personality: None of his brethren ever understood Bregan's fascination with vermin. While the other gnomes always looked up, seeking to emulate the larger races, Bregan kept his eyes to the dirt. The vermin became his teacher, his mentor, and his constant companion.

From the ant he learned that just because you're tiny doesn't mean that you can't be strong. From the termite, he learned that even the lowliest of creatures can bring down the biggest of obstacles, and from the cockroach, he learned that out-surviving your opponent is often just the same as beating him.

He studied and learned from his new friends to the point where he could communicate with them, even control them. Bregan's mind raced, surely the other gnomes would respect him now! Surely now they would see that these vermin were a help, not a hindrance!

But alas, Bregan was ignored, or treated as crazy, even for a gnome. His brethren called his friends "pests", and stomped them underfoot, or simply ran in fear of the larger swarms. Bregan was exiled, with nothing but his bugs for company.

So now the young gnome has set out, determined to right the centuries of wrongdoing and oppression the larger races have done to his tiny companions. And one day, he hopes that he will return to his homeland, a hero, and be received with open arms.

Or claws. Or pincers. Or antennae :)

Background (include what campaign trait you might use): SS: After presenting himself as a professional beekeeper (and liberally greasing the palm of the captain with gold), Bregan and his boxed-up beehive now make their way to the land of Sargava, where Bregan hopes to recruit many wondrous and exotic new species of bugs to his cause. (get the cargo through)

KM: Bregan sees the untamed wilderness of Brevoy as the perfect place to construct his dream, a city built by both man and vermin, where both get along in mutual respect and admiration. (Pioneer)

Secrets/Plots hooks: Bregan always looks to improve the inter-species relations between bugs and sentient races. This can take on any number of forms, whether it be discovering a new type of insect that can heal people, opening up a trade of exotic rope spun from spider webbing, or seeking a cure for the very rare but deadly insect-lycanthropy.

Rooke, Master of the Serene Hand:

Gender: Male

Race: Half-Orc

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Height: 7' 3"

Weight: 345 lbs

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Topaz

Skin Tone: Green-gray

Forseen Class: Monk of the Lotus

Description and Personality: Though technically a bastard raised among pureblood orcs, few in Rooke's tribe ever tormented the imposing half-breed, and none ever did it twice. Rooke's physique belied his split parentage, and though he lacked the uglier, rougher features that distinguished true orcs, he dwarfed almost all of his pureblood brethren, both in size and sheer ferocity.

Anyone who crossed him payed for it with their lives, usually immediately. Those that did not follow his orders were beaten savagely until they changed their minds. In fact, Rooke was so imposing that entire nations of orcs would have unified under his name, had he cared for such ambition.

Instead, Rooke took what he wanted, when he wanted, and gave little thought to anything else. This ignorance proved his downfall, as Rooke was duped into indentured slavery and forced to fight in pits and arenas around the world. At first he was furious, and much gold and many lives were spent reigning in this most profitable of champions, but Rooke soon adapted to his new lifestyle, reveling in the fame, fortune and bloodshed.

All that changed the day he met Usan.

The small, elderly monk was led quietly into Rooke's lavish cell. At first the big orc took the frail man to be a servant, someone to wash his body and sharpen his weapons between bouts. So it was with great surprise and disbelief when Rooke discovered that Usan wasn't a servant at all, but was instead a fellow combatant, albeit one who refused to fight in the arena.

Rook assumed the man was placed in his cell as a form of punishment; his captors did not abide slaves who did not perform when they were supposed to (although Rooke wondered what good such a small worthless man would do on a battlefield).

Alas, to Rooke it did not matter for the man would either soon learn his place or he would die by the huge fighter's hand.

Rooke tossed a dirty set of armor at the monk's feet. "Clean it," he said. The frail man did not move, simply closed his eyes, as if meditating. Rooke immediately struck the man, bloodying his face and sending him crashing into the cell wall.

Interestingly, the man did not retaliate, and instead resumed his sitting position, closing his eyes once more.

No one had ever ignored the orc twice. Rooke flew into a rage, snatching up the man and repeatedly pounding his small body. Still, Usan did not resist, even when Rooke had him by the throat, slowly squeezing the life out of him with massive hands. Usan's face, though bloodied, and swollen purple, did not show a grimace of pain, or wide-eyed terror. Instead, it reflected something that suddenly took the fight out of the furious giant, something that Rooke had never seen before.

His face showed utter compassion.

Over the next few months, a change began in Rooke. Occasionally he would order his companion to serve him, only to be once again completely ignored. He would strike the old man a few times, but Rooke soon found that his heart was not in it. He could not kill a man who refused to lift a finger against him.

Even more surprising was the day that Usan intervened just as Rooke was about to throttle an attendant for misplacing his weapon. As he moved to strike the cowering servant, a small, wrinkled hand gripped his shoulder and suddenly the anger flooded out of Rooke. He was infused with an unearthly sense of calm, and serenity. In an instant he had been transformed from a violent assailant to a passive non combatant. The terrified servant glanced around nervously and then bolted for the door, eager to escape the violent youth and not believing his luck. Rooke should have been furious.

Instead, he found his anger replaced with intrigue.

He began to pose questions to his frail cellmate, questions that went unanswered more often than not. Gradually, however, he began to learn a bit about Usan's past, which turned out to be just as dark and checkered as his own. Formerly a degenerate gambler and murderer, Usan was on the run from a local loan shark when he encountered a group of men and women who offered to pay off his considerable debt in exchange for one year of Usan's service. These people, he explained, belonged to a monastic order that preached peace and serenity above all else. They trained Usan in their secret martial art, an ancient for of hand to hand combat that is designed around attacking nerve centers that lead to hostility and violence, thus calming the opponent and ending the fight with minimal bloodshed.

The more Rooke considered it, the more intrigued he became. Usan taught him how to clear his mind, purify his soul, and eliminate his anger and bloodlust. He taught him to eschew his weapons, and to use his strength for good instead of evil. And when Rooke was ready, he helped pay for the half-orc's freedom, and gave him one final commission; that he travel the land just as Usan did, promoting peace wherever possible.

Background (include what campaign trait you might use): SS: After being freed from the gladiatorial camps on Shackles, Rooke seeks to live up to his promise to Usan by beginning his pilgrimage in Sargava. He has managed to book passage aboard the Jenivere. (boarded in Shackles).

KM: Rooke sees the turmoil-stricken lands of Brevoy as the perfect place to spread his message of peace, and as such has joined a group of adventurers as they seek to tame this vast wilderness. (Pioneer)

Secrets/Plots hooks: Rooke is always interested in finding the other hidden members of his secret monastic order, whether to learn a new technique, gain an item to help him on his pilgrimage, or simply learn the fantastic history of this secret brotherhood that he now belongs to.

Jalraun Chavanti CG male human (varisian) div1;

Jalraun Chavanti grew up as the unplanned son of a fortune teller called Madame Chavanti's daughter Jahanna and her secret Sczarni paramour, Raunos the Raven...

ok, I have created an account but will need to post up a concept/name later. but my login name is Monkeygod(just to keep it simple)

I'm not a fan of creating IDs for places where there's a chance that I won't get accepted, so I'll post my idea here:

Ja "Bonfire" Cross

Spoiler:

Desrcription and Personality: Much like fire itself, this young man was lean, almost slight, but contained an air of intensity like few any had seen. His hair was long, and curly, almost fluffy, but fine. Its hue was a dark red, like that of the coals after a dying flame, often held back by a kerchief whose color varied often. His eyes were a very dark gold. Of mixed heritage, he made no secret of being dangerous. Only those who undress him learn of the tattoos he has on his person, that of fire wasps in various places.
"Respect me as you would the flames in your hearth", he would say, "and we will get along famously.." If the subject were female, he would often add; "..hold me close and I will keep you warm." He was indeed warm, dazzling, drawing, even. When angered, he could rage like the very flames he claims are in his blood, until the source of his anger is gone.

Background:
Of mixed Taldan/Garundi heritage, Desidero does indeed carry flame within him. He claims that it was a bargain on his mother's side, at some point back in time, while Taldor was at the peak of their civilization, an ancestor of his served fire.. Whether it was in secret or openly, they served, and so close were they to that fire, that it began to be passed down the family line.
Instead of fading, like most gifts did, this gift remained, and carried on. Some displayed it better than others, helping those around them, becoming someone to count on, a light in the storm... Others let it consume them, channeling it into swathes of destruction, doling out pain to anyone that crossed their path. He came from the latter. One too many instances of poor judgement caused the law to look upon him unfavorably, and he figured that perhaps it was time to get some space, find new places, lest he be contained and his life snuffed out.
Elemental Sorcerer

Me-Mori - good point, people can post concepts here if they want as well. I'll sort through everything on the weekend and try and accomodate folks. I will say that a cool background that ties to Sandpoint or Varisia goes a long way...

Another character idea I'd had a while back that didn't get picked. (noone seems to like monks) :(
Toli

Spoiler:

Going off of the idea that some monks are not always formally schooled,I've got an idea for a Forlorn Elven Monk, beggar of Sandpoint as long as anyone can remember.

People say lots of things about her. She usually hears them all. Somehow, somewhere along the time that she spent in Sandpoint, "too close to humans" for the sensibilities of her fellow elves, and "too far away" for the groups that she ran with as a street-child again, and again, and again. Maybe she should have adopted a profession. Maybe she should have tried harder to reach the Elven communities. In truth, she realized that she got distracted. In the time that she has spent in Sandpoint, she has seen it slowly grow, the pressure of people forcing the frontier city to grow outwards, the colors of the city as changing as the seasons...
Monk of the Empty Hand

This is my contribution to the party. I hope he will make it.

Background and Description:

Background:
Jalraun Chavanti grew up as the unplanned son of a fortune teller called Madame Chavanti's daughter Jahanna and her secret Sczarni paramour, Raunos the Raven.... Not that the varisian nomad troupe that the fortune teller and her daughter was part of wasn't the rogueish sort themselves, but nothing like the coldblooded criminals of the Sczarni organizaiton. The surprising thing about this romance, was that the Sczarni thief that Jalraun's mother was in love with, Raunos the Raven, an infamous scoundrel, who had won the affection of many young varisian women over the years, loved her back with great passion. Being the daughter of the fortune teller Madame Chavanti who was in fact not a fraud but an authentic diviner, who had a bit of reknown around Varisia after a long life of correct predicaments, and extraordinarily beautiful and attractive too, Raunos deemed Jahanna the one true love of his life. Thus, he turned his back on the Sczarni, an action that would later have fatal consequences for both him and his paramour Jahanna the seer's daughter, Madame Chavanti and the rest of the troup. But luckily enough not for their lovechild Jalraun, who was the only one to survive the Sczarni onslaught of the nomads' camp twentytwo years later. After the Sczarni left, badly wounded he pulled himself into the fortune teller's wagon. His grandmother, the old seer, had participated herself in the bloody fight casting spells, only escalating the violent tendencies of the Sczarni assassins. Inside the wagon he found the cabinet where he knew that she had some potions of healing stashed. Just as the background of his father killed his family and many innocent nomads, the background of his grandmother saved his life. That was when he decided. He was going not going to be a rogue like his father. He was going to become a master of the arcane like his grandmother. Since then he has lived as a varisian nobody in Sandpoint, using his thieving skills and his innate magic ability to get by in the streets, looking for friends and a purpose other than just to get by.
At first glance he appears like a typical young varisian nomad man, but it is clearly that he has inherited some strong personal magnitude from his mother's side and a nimble way of moving from his father's.
He doesn't use the scarf yet without hitrate squashing penalties. I don't know why I have it. I just think it's cool. O.O
His clothing is a myriad of colors mostly midnight blue, purple, yellow, green, black, and red. Yeah mostly just a myriad.

Introducting Maude Bouvier, an Inquisitor of Desna, dispatched to the sleepy town of Sandpoint four years ago, when the local cathedral was burnt to the ground.

Despite having spent several months trying to get to the bottom of what happened, her superiors eventually closed the case and moved on. Maude, however, could not. She moved to the town and spent every waking moment trying to uncover exactly what had happened. Unfortunately, time erodes memory and other, more pressing matters began to draw her away from the case.

Now, Maude spends her time protecting the faithful and hunting through the surrounding countryside in an effort to pay her way. She has also aided in the reconstruction of the cathedral and was often seen guarding it at night. Now that the Swallowtail Festival nears, Maude feels she might finally get a little closure.

Seriously, a cathedral burns down and no-one else wants to make an Inquisitor?

Alias is almost complete, just need to know how you want to handle wealth.

'twas because I knew you'd make an inquisitor... Grandmother Chavanti told me at a young age.. ;)

alrighty, now that finally in front of my laptop, let me put up a longer post:

I've been playing PF since Alpha, as i was involved in a online(MIRC)playtest. I've been roleplaying since 1996 and now gaming in general is a passion of mine.

I am a rather decent, quite detail oriented writer, so my posts should be solid, though my dialogue isn't amazing.

As i have yet to read the PG to Rise, I'm not sure how my concept fits the region, but i plan on playing a Halfling Swashbuckler Rogue.

Also, as for my knowledge of the AP i know the following: It's apparently about these Runelords(who i've heard would make a neat PrC) who Rise, and was created by Paizo.

Also, are the new traits from APG allowed? specifically the Sandpoint ones?

Grand Lodge

Please either post your character concept here, or on www.roleplaymarket.com, as soon as possible. I'd like to choose the party this evening if possible, but will wait a day if those who have expressed interest haven't yet sent their concept.

Monkeygod - The "Favored Sun/Daughter" and "Outlander" ones are OK even though they're not "canon". Not "Black Sheep", though. Also note that there are trait versions of the bonus feats from the Player's Guide posted on the site... I've modified version that I've found on the baords here.

• Country born: You come from the rural region around Sandpoint, where you were raised in an environment of rustic tradition, honest, hard work. Your toil-filled childhood has granted you reserves of endurance. Once per day, when an effect would normally leave you fatigued or exhausted, you may ignore the fatigue or exhaustion effect. This ability activates the first time you are affected by fatigue or exhaustion in a day; you cannot save it to apply it to a specific effect.

• Lone Wolf: You let a lonely childhood and were forced to fend for yourself. Your past has made you resilient. Whenever you are dying, your chance of stabilizing is 50%.

• Totem Spirit: Your tribal totem spirit favours you.
Prerequisite: Human (Shoanti), or dwarf who has spent a significant part of his/her life living on the Storval Plateau
The totemic favour grants you a benefit depending on your clan:
- Lyrune-Quah (Moon Clan): You gain a +1 trait bonus to Perception and Perception is a class skill for you.
- Shadde-Quah (Axe Clan): If you have the rage ability, it lasts for one additional round.
- Shriikirri-Quah (Hawk Clan): You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.
- Shundar-Quah (Spire Clan): You gain a +1 bonus on Fortitude saves.
- Sklar-Quah (Sun Clan): You gain a +1 bonus on Acrobatics checks, and Acrobatics is always a class skill for you.
- Skoan-Quah (Skull Clan): You gain a +2 trait bonus on weapon damage against undead.
- Tamiir-Quah (Wind Clan): Your base land speed increases by 5 feet. This counts as a trait bonus.

(Note that the Shoanti tribes are generally not very open to strangers, so make sure your background can explain why you’d be hanging around with a bunch of foreigners!)

• Varisian Tatoo: You bear intricate tattoos which inspire and empower your natural magical ability. These tattoos mark you as a worker of the ancient traditions of Varisian magic.
Prerequisite: Spell Focus in matching school.
Benefit: Select a school of magic other than divination in which you have Spell Focus—you cast
spells from this school at +1 caster level. Additionally, you can cast a single cantrip as a spelllike
ability once per day (caster level equals Hit Dice, save DC is Charisma-based). The spell-like ability gained is determined by the school chosen:
Abjuration: Resistance
Conjuration: Acid splash
Enchantment: Daze
Evocation: Dancing lights
Illusion: Ghost sound
Necromancy: Touch of fatigue
Transmutation: Mage hand
A Varisian tattoo typically consistsof a long string of characters in Thassilonian, the language found on the ancient monumentsof the land. Most are quite complex, running the entire length of an arm or leg.

• City Born - Magnimar: You hail from Magnimar, City of Monuments, which is known for its open-mindedness and acceptance of a variety of races and cultures. Because of your tolerant upbringing, you gain a +1 trait bonus on Diplomacy, and Diplomacy is a class skill for you. Also note, right now there aren't any fighter-type concepts submitted, so one of those has a good chance of making it in if it's good.

Lamplighter:

Just thought I'd let you know that though I expressed interest on day one of this thread -- I really, really want to play Rise of the Runelords -- I've taken myself out of the running after exploring roleplaymarket. The site just isn't to my tastes.

I do wish you a lot of fun with your game, and to those who are selected to play in it!

I could make up a fighter type instead of the thieving sorcerer concept...

Grand Lodge

Wander Weir - that's too bad, I like the map tools available, but that's me. What otgher sites have you used for PbP that you prefer?

this guy... - you can make up whatever you want, right now the submissions include a halfling rogue, a few sorcerers, a couple monks, a couple druids, and an inquisitor.

If you'd rather have a fighter type than what I originally made up and/or deem it more appropriate for the group.

Grand Lodge

Sorry - yes, max hit points at 1st level, average starting gold.

Grand Lodge

OK, I think we have our players! This guy ate my previosu avatar, Me'mori, Maude, Monkeygod, and Game Masquerade - party of 5, come on down!

this guy - shoanti barbarian is in

Me'mori - sorcerer is in

Maude - Inquisitor of Desna is in.

Game Masquerade - monk is in.

Monkeygod - halfling rouge is in.

Please make a profile on the site, create and submit a character, and let me know your roleplayymarket name so I can invite you (or just join the game and submit your chatracter). We'll work it out over there.

RPM name is Monkeygod, character submiited(Dairkal). I take it there are discussion forums for just our game over there? or how do we handle OOC convos??

Server Error on Market :( Major Annoyance

Grand Lodge

Yeah, site is down... grr.

I will set up OOC threads and various Sandpoint lcoations as soon as I can upload them to the site.

I hope it comes up sooner than later..

While we wait for it to come back up could you answer me tihs: is it a problem if the cost of Ancrym's already mentioned equipment exceeds the 105 gp (125 and that's without adventuring gear strickly arms and armor and barbarian chew :) average for barbarians a little bit..? also what do you say to that he's a realtive newcomer to Sandpoint who's been met with some fear due to his hulking size, intimidating weaponry, and red-stained teeth from chewing galroot leaves the locals in Sandpoint call him Redtooth the Barbarian, and he is known to be looking for his brother and hanging out in the Black Deer asking patrons about him..? and that the authorities is keeping a close eye on him, even though he's assured them that he will cause no trouble?

Board's back up...

As to your question - you should note that barbarian chew is a single-use item, so you probably can't afford a "habit" of it. As for gold - everyone gets average gold to start, so you'll have to pare down. Background is fine, and I have some cool ideas to pay off of this, as well...

Sorry didn't see this reply before I started posting on Market.

About the habit of chewing he had to lay it off on his journey to find his brother, since there came a point when he couldn't find any galroot..
I really liked the idea of him fighting with a dogslicer in his offhand and a klar in his main, however...

Seems like it's Maude and Masquerade we are missing...

Hey Lamplighter. The OOG Thread at the site is locked.

Actually, I'm going to have to withdraw my submission. I decided to GM my own pbp instead. Good luck with the campaign, though!

Yo, Lamplighter. If Me'mori is playing and you still need a spot filled I could make a character for whatever is missing. I'm always intrigued by other's GM styles especially if I see stuff to carry over into my PBP games.

Give a holler if there's a gap to fill.

Apparently there is a gap! The missing player was a monk, but feel free to submit anything that doesn't duplicate the existing characters - barbarian, sorcerer, inquisitor, rogue.

Game Masquerade, good luck with your game!

Maude - please contact or sign it at www.roleplaymarket.com - haven't heard anything since your concept. We're aiming for daily posts, so please reply soon or I'll have to go with just four.

*falls to the ground in anguish* Nooooo!!

Why is it always the monk!? Whyyyyyyyyy!?

I can't post reply. The only place you can put text is Data.

I could use this guy, but I was thinking about an Oracle since there's no healer right now. I'd have to tweak his backstory as he's from Brevoy, but that could easily be changed to Sandpoint.

Me'mori - if you want to switch to monk now, that's fine - I was looking forward to seeing one in action.

Everyone- roleplaymarket boards permissions fixed - sorry for the hassles, I had the defaults set wrong. Now you can post.

If she wants to use her monk, I have this character in reserve as well. It's a wizard. Adding some background and description now.

-Skippy

edit; all done

just checked, OOC still can not be replied to. that normal??

Grand Lodge

I was thinking of an NPC healer if no one wants to play one, so don't choose based on that need.

OOC thread is fixed now... it won't remember my default permissions and I keep forgetting to change them...

To be fair, most APs with easy access to cities don't require a healing PC. Wands tend to work fine for patching up groups between encounters. I'd be up for playing either of the characters posted here. Tarin would be especially fun.
