Would it take up both of our turns if, I pulled you out or just mine? Plus pulling you out is a full round action, you may get out quicker swimming, but then again if you try and swim and do not make it can still pull you out.

It would take Dram's action, leaving Ash kneeling but able to act this round. Monkey Demons are getting hungry!!!!

Also- Don't feel like you can ONLY post in order, especially if you are doing something fairly independent, ie "I smack the guy next to me" or "I heal myself" sort of actions. I'll do a "round up" of all the actions and consolidate them when everyone has posted.

Male Human Ranger 4

Trying not to panic, Ash tries to "swim" his way out.

Swim 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

If Ash got out, I will attack the guy adjacent to me, drop 10 ft pool and pull out weapons, attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 damage 1d6 ⇒ 4
If he didnt get out, i will pull him out

Male Human 4 Druid

Balam sees the approaching demons and shifts into a leopard. He tells Jyx to take a circuitous route and attack the demon from behind.

Female Jaguar 4HD

Jyx sees the weird creature approaching Balam, and decides she doesn't like it AT ALL. Balam shifts and asks her to attack the weird creature from behind. She circles around and tries to bite the creature.

Attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage:1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
The attack includes +1 for flanking

Crisk says to the monkey demon #7 "I wish you grave misfortune". The Monkey Demon looks puzzled, and then terrified, realizing he has crossed a shaman!!! [Failed save]

Trying not to panic, Ash tries to "swim" his way out, but the thick sand holds him fast. Warily eying the attackers, Dram pulls Ash from the mire. Balam sees the approaching demons and shifts into a leopard. He tells Jyx to take a circuitous route and attack the demon from behind. Jyx sees the weird creature approaching Balam, and decides she doesn't like it AT ALL. She circles around and bites the creature, leaving a ragged bloody wound.

The monkey demons react with shrieks of rage!!!! All they wanted was some food, maybe some metal, and you react with violence?!?!?! MD1 begins to chant and beat a drum, and the resolve of the MDs around the party seems to strengthen. MD2 & 3 blow their horns and caper about, while MD4 & 5 attack the big cats with their spears (MD4 Attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15, Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5, MD5 Attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7, Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4). MD6 takes a swipe at Dram while his back is turned (MD6 Attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14, Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4), while MD7 flees into the high grass, quickly becoming lost to sight. MD8 and 9 loft arrows at Ash (MD8 Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14, Damage 1d4 ⇒ 4, MD9 Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10, Damage 1d4 ⇒ 1) while MD10, emitting a series of grunts and growls shuffles through the grass, his obsidian headed war club clenched tightly, raised for a killing blow….

Map

vykral begins to try to talk to the monkeys in front of her, "Wait why are we fighting?"
she steps east 10' and draws her whip readying an action to attack the monkey 6 if it approaches. Not sure if diplomacy with the monkeys will work but here ya go 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12. Man the dice do not like this this character.

Male Human Witch 4

If Vykral's diplomacy doesn't work using Misfortune on m5. If the diplomacy does work will pend my action and I will cackle either way extending the misfortune on m7 another round

Assuming below it doesn't work.

Crisk says to the monkey demon #5 "You will have misfortune as well!" Crisk hexes the demon with Misfortune.
Anytime the creature makes an ability check, attack roll, saving
throw, or skill check, it must roll twice and take the worse
result. A Will save negates this hex.

Monkey Demons needs to make a will save against dc 16.

Pending if diplomacy works, if not the below
Attack the nearest monkey demon 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17; 1d6 ⇒ 5 main hand, 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19; 1d6 ⇒ 2 off hand

Male Human Ranger 4

Pulled from the quicksand, Ash climbs to his feet and draws his sword, holding it out before him and preparing to meet the coming attack (from #10).

Ready action - attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27; 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Male Human Ranger 4

confirm crit 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26; 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

The ready action is in case, by some odd chance, diplomacy works and they back off. I'm confirming crit in a separate thread because of the odd behavior with dice rolls lately.

Probably safe to assume Diplomacy is out the window once blood is drawn. Just sayin...

Male Human Witch 4

in that case can proceed with my misfortune and cackle ;p

Ditto on my full attack

Male Human 4 Druid

Balam is oblivious to the dialogue going on around him focusing on the demon right in front of him.

All attacks are done using power attack, and include +1 for flanking.
Bite Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage:1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Claw Attack 1:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage:1d3 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Claw Attack 2:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage:1d3 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

If the demon dies from either the bite or first claw attack please apply the remaining attack(s) to the demon in front of Vykral

Edit: Crit Confirmation:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Re-Edit: Fixed the attacks for power attacking. I forgot my BAB isn't +4 yet :)

Female Jaguar 4HD

Working in tandem with her nahaul Jyx attacks the demon in front of her.

All attacks are power attacks, and include a +1 for flanking. If Balam killed the first demon Jyx instead takes a 5ft step, and attacks the demon in front of Vykral.

Bite Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Damage:1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Claw Attack 1:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage:1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Claw Attack 2:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage:1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Vykral begins to try to talk to the monkeys in front of her, "Wait why are we fighting?". The MD facing her gets a puzzled look, mostly because it has never tried to kill a female before. Crisk says to the monkey demon #5 "You will have misfortune as well!". A loud cackle escapes his lips as the demon attempts to retreat in terror, but is torn apart by Jyx. Dram’s blades flash in the humid sunshine, drawing cries of pain as they bite deep into the flesh of the demon he faces, slaying it instantly. Ash raises his sword overhead, bronze blade gleaming amidst the tall grass, waiting for his time to strike. The jaguar-Balam makes short work of demon he can reach, and the marsh is filled with the coppery smell of spilled blood, and the earthy smell of entrails.

Most of the MDs flee from this new terror, chattering wildly in their pidgin tongue. The charging warrior, oblivious to aught else but his blood lust, looses a blood curdling war cry as he begins to swing his war club. A war cry that is quickly turned to confused gurgling as Ash’s heavy blade sends the foe crashing to the loamy earth.

And then?

Male Human Witch 4

Crisk loooks around "Hmm it's possible we just made a mistake..." "Do we loot these guys and move on? Or do we find them and try to make ammends possibly gaining allies if we can convince them of our intentions?"

Search the body of the one I felled and see if I can find anything useful. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

"That was interesting, everyone ok?"

Male Human Ranger 4

With one eyebrow raised, Ash gives Crisk a look while he wipes his sword clean. "I think it's probably a little late to make friends." Turning to the others, he double checks. "Everyone okay?" And then, looking up at the trees, "Raj? Where are you buddy?"

"Well they smell quite bad!" Vykral will examine them with one hand holding her nose trying to ascertain what they are.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 knowledge nature. have I rolled better than a 5?

Male Human Witch 4

"Well if we aren't up for making friends do we eradicate? We are still looking for bandits it's possible they know the bandits or have at least seen them." Crisk says while looking at one of the demons.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 knowledge nature

@ Vykral- Your extensive knowledge of the natural world does you no good here. :)
@ Dram- You don't find much- stone tipped short spears (3), some crude jewelery made from stones, bones, and cords, and an atlatl.
@ Crisk- what info are you seeking with your check? If it is mor eor less the same as Vyks (what ARE they?)

Spoiler:
When they are not moving around it is fairly easy to see these are some form of Goblinoid, adapted for the tropics. Large mouths, long limbs, but they also have a long slender tail, possibly for climbing trees. The one Jyx tore apart appears to have stone rings encircling it's appendage, possibly ornamentation, possibly an additional weapon.

The day is still fairly young, and you have much ground to cover, but as has been pointed out, leaving angry critters behind to ambush your compatriots may not be the best plan.

Male Human Witch 4

@ DM

Spoiler:
sorry yes just do I know what they are

"Our directives were not to engage, so my vote is to continue on and only engage if needed. However if they touch us again I say we wipe them out."

Male Human Witch 4

"True I'm hesitant to leave anyone behind me as well but a little danger may be warranted to complete or mission in the most expedient way possible. Danger is noted, we now need to report on the area. " "If we can get to the next town before nightfall I say we push forward."

Male Human Ranger 4

"These . . . monkey-goblins don't seem to be any real danger, and I can't imagine them challenging a larger force. They should really be of no concern to us. I say we push on." As an afterthought, he mumbles something about trying to be careful.

"Would you care for the use, of a slightly used 10 ft pole?"

Dram leans down to pick up his pole out of the mud.

Ha, only used once?

So, where are we headed kids? Follow the MDs? Push on to Lugh? Dance in place?

Well only once that he knows of :), Push on to Lugh looks to be 3 of the votes.

Male Human Witch 4

"I say we push on with the mission. Same order as before anyone?"

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 perception Crisk
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 perception Ja

I think I see a rock in the dirt...

vyk will take a moment to dance in place before heading out. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 perform (dance)

Glad I gave that option then :)

The party re-starts it's journey, tracking carefully around the quick sand. The day is hot and humid, the slight breeze captured by the grass before alleviating the heat. The steady drone of insects, and call of birds and other animals resound through he marsh. Boots fill with muddy water, feet shrivel, pack straps cut into shoulders, seemingly gaining weight as the day goes on.

As the sun begins to fall in the sky, Ash notices a small cairn along the path, topped with a skull that appears to be from a monkey demon.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 perception on the Cairn

Male Human Witch 4

@ DM Ender

Spoiler:
Did I know what those monkey demons were?

Crisk Rao wrote:
@ DM Ender ** spoiler omitted **

Crisk

Spoiler:
I gave you a ton of info in the spoiler above, or do you want more?

@ Dram

Spoiler:
The cairn is a small pile of dry stacked rocks, most likely pulled from the earth near by. The skull on top has a small diamond or ovoid shaped hole punched in the forehead, most likely by an arrow. It is fairly recent, and insects still scurry over it's surface, bearing away bits fo flesh and brains.

"Guys this is fresh. We might want to be on our guard, and looks like this thing died a violent death. Maybe he crossed one of the bandits we are looking for."

Male Human Witch 4

@DM Ender

Spoiler:
mostly if I knew enough about them to know how they might behave due to the attack, or anything special about them, if my knowledge is cursory at best on them what's provided is just fine My thinking was mostly would they help the bandits or would they have helped us if I had stopped to think about it before I attacked.

Crisk Rao wrote:
@DM Ender ** spoiler omitted **

Spoiler:
Ok, that makes sense. Know:Nat prolly isn't the skill for that, more Know:Local I would think. BUT, knowing it's a goblinoid would prolly give you some insight- tribal, the strong rule, revenge is swift, but bravery is subordinated to self-preservation. IF the raiders came this far inland, the MDs likely would have run away screaming.

Male Human Ranger 4

"I don't know, it looks to me like his friends were able to bury him, so it would seem there is no urgent threat here. Let's leave it be, and keep moving." While talking, Ash looks over the mound, and searches the ground nearby for any signs of what happened here.

Perception1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Survival1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

@ Ash

Spoiler:
It does not appear that he was buried by other MDs. There appear to be a number of tracks from some kind of snake-like creatures, all around the cairn, as though they built it and placed the skull on top. There is no sign of the rest of the MD.

Male Human Ranger 4

"Hold on," Ash says, hand raised to the others as he inspects the ground. "Hmmmmmm . . . it actually looks like some snake like creature created the cairn . . . maybe Nagas?" After a moment, he looks up. "Perhaps the skull is meant to scare the monkey demons away, to keep them from plundering the grave?"

Patrick - Are you aware of Rob McCreary's creation of monkey-goblins a few years back for the RPG SuperStar competition? Or is this just coincidence? I was in a homebrew pbp Rob briefly ran before joining Paizo, and played a gnome ranger who had a hatred of the little buggers. I can feel him wanting to come out.

Male Human Witch 4

"Hmm the Naga's back in town mentioned something about some possible conflict from within... could be this is that, or it could be the next town is inhabited by Naga's too and they aren't too keen on these little buggers. "

"Do we know if the bandits we are looking for have any Nagas with them? It might be a good idea to maybe check the surrounding area a bit, mark it on our map and proceed to town."

haha, I wish I could say I had heard of them, may give some class to my hodge podge little critter. So, you're a serial ranger player, eh? I'll keep that in mind... muwahahaa..

Male Human Witch 4

"A quick recon sounds good to me assuming Ash is confident he can get us there and back again..."

So, we press on? Does everybody go along? Or is it just Ash scouting ahead?

"After getting ambushed I think we should stick together."
