Back in the day there used to be Power Pack; any good comics out there for the 5-8 age of kids?

Marvel Superhero Squad is targeted directly at this age group.

Tiny Titans is a great choice.

Try PS238, I think it's suitable, but I could be wrong.

Been a while since I've dealt with kids of that age.

Tiny Titans is indeed an excellent choice. I read these to my five year old daughter almost every night. She loves her superheroes.

Thanks for the input; am definately looking for something they will read rather than watch on tv and they love supers.

I think the incredibles is out as a comic now.

Good point. In fact most of Boom Studio's children's imprint is excellent.

Going non-super:

The Flight series of books are awesome. You'll have to pre read the books, because some of the stories are dark or PG-13 themed. Flight Companion (I think that's what it's called) is strictly for kids, and it too is great. Amulet is by one of the main Flight creators. It's a longer form, journey type comic, but there's a lot of fantastical elements to it.

Older books, which are still available, include Amelia Rules and Bone.
