To answer the second part first, we have two GM's that have volunteered that should send in their desired scenarios. Now to the first part of your question, we would like to have some standby GM's in case of an overflow of players. In previous years we have needed more tables than originally scheduled.

I signed up for the first session! since I'm one of the ones to be running Shadow Lodge during your second. :)

Nice scenario offerings for this con.
I bought my ticket tonight.
Since we can only reserve 3 slots, what do we do about the other games we want to play?
I'm putting together my crew (Chot and Thalvish), and they're coming to con in my (current) home state. Team Cheliax would love to play together, and in the following games:
(We are 7th and 8th level)
Friday 2000 Drow of the Darklands
Sat 1000 Jesters Fraud [reserved]
Sat 1500 Below the Silver Tarn [reserved]
Sat 2000 Fortune's Blight
Sun 1000 Sarkorian Prophesy [reserved]
Is there anything we can do to help guarantee we get to play together in these games?

Have them all Pre Reg for the same games is the best way, that is the only way to get in before someone else.
Edit: For the other 2 you want to play, I think you have to hope they are not sold out..

For those going to OwlCon, I am about to Start setting up PFS at ChimaeraCon 2010 in San Antonio April 1-3 2011, I am just waiting for an Austin Organizer to contact me back who was interested in helping out.

This is exactly why all the other conventions I've ever been to use Warhorn. Driving cross-state and paying for gas/hotel just to find out that half the games you want to play in are sold out is rather upsetting (plus it works wonders for coordinator organization).

OwlCons Web page does the same. It tells you how many tickets are still available, but that is before conformation.
If you select a game and it happened to be sold out before you picked it, you will be notified the same day you registered.

Also, last year there were many extra players. Impromptu games were set up, and everyone got to play.
This year we set up twice as many tables, so hopefully the need will be met, but we also have people committed as "backup GMs" in case a GM can't show up for some reason or an additional table is needed. Any session where I am not either running or signed up to play, I will be willing to run a session, for example. I plan to have three scenarios (the one I signed up with and two low level ones) ready to play in case of such a situation.
|
Now with 2 full tables. Still plenty of openings for some PFS fun.
We might have a group interested in coming down from Austin for Saturday and Sunday, but during the Saturday afternoon slot, we are kind of at a loss as we have all played the low-level scenarios offered that slot and don't have higher level characters to play the other mods. If worse comes to worse, I might pack a scenario with me when we come down so we have something to play, but hoping we might be able to find a judge to run a mod for us during that time.

What?
No new postings since last Friday?!
Am I the only one counting down the days?Team Cheliax is ready to rock next Friday.
Just wait till you see our Team T shirts.
If you are not jealous, I will be disappointed.See you all there!

No need to be jealous. If not the shirts themselves, then the materials or dyes used, surely passed through the hands of a Qadiran merchant. Thank you for your support. :p
Look forward to seeing you.

Must. agree. with. Daigle. Must. Read. Scenario.
I am ahead of the Game!! already test ran mine.. and had the map printed up!

Must. Prepare. For. Weekend. Of. Gaming.
I feel kinda bad now, as things in life have smoothed out. I feel like I left others holding the bag for my GMing commitments.
Mind you, I only feel kinda bad. I still get to see everyone and play in a bunch of awesome games, including the Shadow Lodge Event, which I would have been running.

Only Wolfthulhu can wave a tentacle out of character.
OwlCon is off to a healthy start, and the weather in Houston sure beats the icy mess back in Detroit.
:)
And now, I'm about to play Fortune's Blight as run by it's author, Adam Daigle! WITH... Dragonmoon at the table, along with Jess Door and Silverhair.
Good day. Good day.

I am now convinced of Doug Doug's qualifications to be the first 5-star GM. I had little doubt before, but he stepped in and ran several overflow tables for us at this year's OwlCon. So far we had 12 regular tables scheduled for Friday and Saturday of the Con, but we had 16 run by the time of the Special Event, which btw Doug Doug ran as the overall GM. Fine upstanding fellow that one.
Today is the last day. We will see what today brings us in the way of surprises. I haven't had time to count how many attendees were at the Special Event yet but I will.
Just my 2 cp.
EDIT: Count of the Special Event Year of the Shadow Lodge:
1 OverGM; 5 Table GM's; 29 Players'.
EDIT2: We had people from Austin, San Antonio, 2 came from Virginia, and 5 guys drove over from New Orleans just to game with us. Awesome, folks. Thanks for making the trip to game with us. We enjoyed having you.
