I like the book, got my hardcopy in the mail this week and plan on sitting down with it tonight. What was/is your favorite part of the writing/creative process?
My favorite part is a little poserish this time around. Cracking open a book with my name on it and seeing my creations come to (in some cases un-) life for the first time is still novel.
That's wearing off as I start work on my next paid project, and start to develop pitches for further work.
Now, any day now, the euphoria of having an out of print work published with my name on it will be replaced by the important things I learned. Like how little control I have over the final product, how much of my words make it to print, the many many good reasons a turnover gets changed for space, art, other people's publishing records and all that. That was a fun and very educational process for me, one that I think will lead me into more opportunity.
