::Team Girallon::
Quariel - Wizard (Vi-hatarn)
Tania Teg - Monk (Dreaming Warforged)
Tark'kanas - Ranger (Javell DeLeon)
Fi'Vannali - Rogue (Jaycen)
Eranla - Cleric (Chris Kenney)
This is the Out-Of-Character Thread for for one of Serpent's Skull groups. I'll look over each character in detail with my fine toothed comb. If everybody would check over their backgrounds, finalize profile's and alias's.
-------The Player Characters--------
Quariel, a intellectual elven wizard who specializes in water control. Currently a member of the Jenivere crew and signed on at the begining o the voyage.
Tania Teg, a peculiar human monk. She seems to watch everyone and everything around her. Studying the intricacies of the finest movement and quietest word. She arrived while the ship was in port at Izmigorta.
Tark'kanas, an elven tribal ranger. There is a determined air about him, like a man on a mission. He recently came aboard as a passanger at Bloodcove.
Fi'Vannali,, a third elf. This one a rogue who has only recently spent time in Mwangi, learning the ways of their people. She also booked passage from Bloodcove in order to hunt bigger game deeper in the expanse near Sargava.
Eranla, n human cleric girl. Barely a maiden she has left the temple to seek what is to be sought deep within the Mwangi Expanse. She joined the passengers at one of the Cheliax ports. Often seen checking over a mysterious map she constantly carries.
I'll post again with details on the ship. We'll figure out when everyone boarded and how/if they know each other, the crew, and the other passengers.

Fi'Vannali |

Hey everyone what's up? I'm feeling super lucky to be chosen, with so many good submissions and similar builds it must have been tough. I,ve noticed Javell's ranger and I have alot in common (much like our MotFF game), perhaps our paths have crossed before? Btw, I believe it is Tar'kanas, not Tark'kanas. Sorry, I'm a stickler for elven names :) I should have the APG soon, might want to make some minor tweaks before we continue if it's allowed.

Journey of Jenivere
Now includes when the PC's boarded! As well as the colors I'll use for your tokens.

I might want to change some skill points.
Can I make a subset selection of languages and ask for some guidance?
Also, what is this Polyglot language?
In effect, Polyglot is the "Trade tongue" of the natives of the Miwangi Expanse. An amalgam of a number of native languages, you can expect most villages in the jungle to have one or two people who speak it. Taldane (Common) isn't as likely to be spoken outside of Sargova, our destination.
However, Serpent's Skull still assumes Taldane as a common-tongue language. If you want to speak Polyglot, you have to buy it with either Int bonus or ranks in Linguistics.

Javell DeLeon |

Hey Scipion, thanks for the selection. What's up Jaycen? Looks like we're back at it. (No thieves' tools AGAIN!...You're killin' me man, you're just killin' me.) ;)
And hello to the rest of you.
Hey Tania, I like Jaycen's(Fi'Vannali) idea of probably knowing her. If she spent time with the Ekujae I figure I would know her. Maybe related. I don't know. I'm not real good at creating links like that, so, if you want to work something together that'd be fine with me. As long as Jaycen doesn't mind.

----------The Crew----------
Alizandru Kovack, captain of the Jenivere. A pleasant Chelish man whose family has saild from Manimar to Eledar for generations. He maintains strict discipline among his crew.
Alton Devers, first mate of the Jenivere, friendly to all. Seems to chafe under the strict rule of Captain Kovack.
Rambar Terillo, a taciturn man from Senghor. He has served as Ships Cook on many a vessel though his skills seem to be limited to watery soups.
----------The Passengers----------
Aerys Mavato, a severe half-elven woman who boarded in Port Peril. Spends most of her time in the bunk purposefully avoiding fraternization with the crew or others.
Gelik Aberwhinge, a sharp dressed gnome who boarded in Magnimar as well. Spends most of his time writing in the ships' common areas. He frequently tells long-winded stories and boasts of past journeys if allowed.
Ieana, a bookish Varisian scholar who tends to keep to herself. She is traveling to Sargava to view the ancient ruins. Rumor on the ship alternately suggest she is the true ship's owner, a Chelish agent, or the Captain's secret lover. The farther the ship travels the more withdrawn she becomes.
Ishirou, cruff human of Tian heritage, Ishirou boarded at Bloodcove and is eager to reach Sargava. He is aloof and gives the impression of one who has had a hard life, but finds himself directionless.
Jask Derindi, a prisoner loaded aboard in Corentyn. Captain kovack sees to his needs, and insists the prisoner be left alone, sequestered in the ship's brig.
Sasha Nevah, this red-haired girl boarded at Ilizmagorti. Since leaving the island she has become boisterous and optimistic about the journey..

Tania Teg |

Looking at backgrounds, it seems the elves could find some connection, especially Quariel and Fi'Vannali, coming both from Kyonin. Fi'Vannali went to visit cousins in Mwangi. Perhaps he's met or seen Tar'Kannas before?
As to me, I could have heard of the incident involving a Shelyn novice and the mighty church of Asmodeus. This could have brought me to take a closer look; allies are rare and hard to find in Cheliax, only to take a mental note to come back in a few years. Then I would be pleasantly surprised to see Eranla aboard. I would then, in game, test to see if she's into the Sargava's freedom from the clutches of the infernal kind.
What do you think?

Javell DeLeon |

Hey Quariel, I was checking out your spells and noticed you only have 6, 1st level spells. According to Core you get "...three 1st level spells of his choice. The wizard also selects a number of additional 1st level spells equal to his Int mod to add to his spellbook."
So you should have 7, 1st level spells. Now I practically never run wizards, so it's highly probable I've missed something somewhere. (It happens more often than not, dangit!) If that's the case, then ignore my crazy ramblings. :p
Hey, but if not, then you get another 1st level spell to add. :)

Quariel |

Sorry, right on about the rat familiar. I think I had been looking for a 7th spell but got distracted by something, I'll try and find something that can be given a watery theme. Speaking of which, I'll add a post with water/ice-flavored descriptions of my various spells shortly.
EDIT: Added touch of the sea as the 7th spell.

Quariel |

Quariel's Spell Effects:
Endure Elements: as written.
Grease: slick ice coats the target area, making it slippery.
Hold Portal: ice fills in gaps around the door, freezing it shut.
Hydraulic Push: as written.
Mage Armor: a fine sheet of ice shields vulnerable areas.
Obscuring Mist: as written.
Touch of the Sea: as written.

Bosun |

Gah, I'm envious. Your team had two to wake up on the first. if that trend holds, you all are going to be ahead of us, and I won't be able to cheer on the monk for fear of spoiling things.
Sorta, I basically just skipped Quariel's first turn and made it similar to Rhys'.
...in every way.

Actually I said you can post at any initiative order, and you started putting it in spoilers ;) It's the same either way to me. However do to the spoiler-rich environment that is Serpent's Skull...it might be a good idea to hold off on them during combat. We've had two "solo" adventures in the other group so far!

Me'mori |

Besides, it hasn't gotten dangerous yet.. We're still in the "getting acquainted with the local fauna" stage. So far, they're still trying to eat us, but if we can find a pot big enough... oh, how the tables will turn!
--'course, we haven't found any butter yet, so the hostile lobsters are lucky.

Javell DeLeon |

Ah. I understand. The "interesting" stuff.
Heck, who needs rations when you got a 5 star meal attacking you! ;)
Psst...butter's in the third box, below the weapons. The one that's marked "In case they live". Sadly, your search reveals no pot. ;)
