Alchemist Formulae Spell Additions

Ok, I am trying to update the Alchemist's formulae list with spells from WotC and Book of Eldritch Might. For starters, I am going with Spell Compendium. Here's an index of those spells: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lists/spells&tablesort=2b

Below is the Alchemist Formulae list. I will be updating the list as I add spells to their list that thematically fit with the Alchemist.

From what I see, their formulae involve spells that affect their person, or affects their person that they can expel out to affect another. They have minimal effects in healing, and a few weird ones that can sort of be stretched out as "drinking and entering a state of mind that expels magic" such as Dream, Nightmare, and Contact Other Plane. Also, it states no spells with a Focus component are considered. So that rules any of those out.

So let's start the process and see what other spells best fits their spell list. I'll be doing this with Inquisitor, Summoner, and Witch (thankfully the Oracle gets its own spell list off the Cleric) once I am done with Alchemist.

Jason said they were going to get us guidelines, but I have read from Erik they might be releasing that with Ultimate Magic...which isn't till April. They might be nice and release an earlier draft of the guidelines in the near future, who knows. We'll make due with what we have.

I think thats a good description of their formulae list. Ill have to dig out my copy of the SC and have a look through, if I can find some time ill take a look and offer up some suggestions I come across.

Yeah, of all the classes, theirs may be the easiest to discern, with a few you'd have to spend some time thinking about.

For the Inquisitor, it's clear they have a majority of Cleric spells, with small dips into the Ranger and Sorcerer/Wizard spell list. The spells are mainly spells that are used to deal with enemies of the faith in some fashion, whether through subterfuge, dealing damage, causing debilitating effects, gaining bonuses in attacks, damage, or AC, divining truths about your enemies, and forms of protection from those very enemies. Theirs will take some time.

Summoner, that seems the second easiest. A lot of conjuration spells, particularly Conjuration (creation) and spells dealing with interdimensional/extraplanar themes. They have few abjuration, misdirection, and transmutation spells, along with a few spells that would prove useful, but not overpowering, to cast on their eidolon. I do see weird ones like Magic Mouth, Ant Haul, and Wind Wall.

Witch, jeez, that's the toughest one.
