Golarion Geography Question: Name that River

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

What is the name of the river that flows out of the Storval Deep through the Iron Peaks into Lake Coal in central Varisia?

I name him "Bob".

There are two river that pass through the Iron Peaks, the Muschkal, which empties into the Stoval Deep, and an unnamed river that empties in Lake Coal, Claybottom, and Skull River.

I had presumed that the Muschkal actually flowed OUT of the Storval Deep and passed underneath the Iron Peaks for a 12 mile stretch; the two rivers would actually be one.

I can see now that perhaps these were two separate rivers, but the idea of a river passing beneath mountains and creating a tunnel of sorts reminds me of Tolkien's Silmarillion and I decided to go with it.

Here is a bit I ended up writing for a scene where a solo player is traveling up this river with a stone giant NPC:

Your journey continues on the serpentine road through the iron peaks, only rarely passing out of sight of the river that cuts a valley though the region. Neither you nor Ignatius know the common name of this river, but he refers to it in giant as "the Chisel." When pressed for an explanation he defers, "You will know why soon enough."

The following day, you follow the banks of the Chisel up steep paths to a height possibly five hundred feet above your campsite from the previous night. The route provides a commanding view of the Storval Deep to the east, and in the distance you can just barely see the Spindlehorn jutting up from the Wyvern Peaks on the opposite shore. Soon, a mountain looms up over the river, and the water can be see to issue forth from a cave; large enough for Ignatius and perhaps two others like him to walk comfortably along a smooth, straight ledge at the river's side.

The stone giant leads you to the cavern entrance. "It will be nearly a day under the mountain, we should gather some food first for the journey." He does not mention bringing light of any kind, leaving you to wonder if darkness poses a problem for his people.

Very cool description Evil Lincoln!
