Hi all,
I have a simple house rule for armor damage that maybe some of you have already tried in one way or another.
Very simple and easy to keep track of, since that doesn't create additional stats or anything.
Basically, every time a character goes down, his armor loses 1 point of AC, to reflect the damage suffered that caused the character to go down. For magic armor, I let the wearers roll a save (Fort or Ref). It is obviously possible to repair the armor, more power to those who put ranks in Craft like that!
Let me know what you think.

Maybe it would be too easy to abuse the rule at high levels?
Maybe. Of course, I don't play at high levels, and I avoid playing with players who abuse the rules. Plus, it's only a vague idea that would obviously need to be worked out in more detail. But, basically, I think I like the idea. It fits the genre:
"The giant brings its massive axe down with unstoppable accuracy. This is going to hurt."
"I raise my shield just in time to take the blow."
* dice clatter *
"The giant's axe sunders your shield, rendering it useless. Some of the shock still passes from axe to shield to you arm. Your bruised, but certainly in better shape than had you taken the full force of the attack."
Just a thought. :)
