Hi guys,
Me and my gf are moving to Canada next January, and when the time comes, I will inevitably have an RPG itch and start looking for a game and new pals to play with. Once we're settled and used to our new surroundings.
As we will be in the Ottawa/Gatineau area, I just wanted to know if there are lots of gamers in the area, and more precisely PF/3.5 gamers? Not that I have anything against other games or editions (myself, I love Cthulhu, Alternity, Pendragon and Warhammer to name a few), but that would be my game of choice.
I know it's a wee bit early to start "shopping around" for groups, but if I can already make some contacts, that would be cool! I'm 32, and I'm French, while the miss is Irish (hence the "wee bit" I learned to use for everything. That and "cheers" he he). Been living in Ireland for 5 years, and looking forward to the move and discovering our new country!
See ya

Hi there. When you arrive your best bet would be to check out the bulletin board at the FLGS (called Fandom II) in downtown Ottawa. There's always lots of games being advertised there, mostly 3.5, 4.0 and Warhammer but occasionally others too. One of the two store owners has become a big fan of Pathfinder (he's running Legacy of Fire) so they often have a good selection of Paizo products for sale too.

One thing to be sure to check out is CanGames, the small convention which runs on the May 24 long weekend. Pathfinder Society has run there the last two years.
The Fandom advice is good. You should also re-post here as the time gets nearer. There are several regulars (and former regulars) who post on the Paizo boards, but sometimes these Gamer Connections take a while to get traction. There is also the Grand Lodge in the PFS section.
