Hey all, I've never done PBP before but I've been checking it out and the community here seems great! I'd love to get into a game sometime. Unfortunately, I only have experience with 4th Edition D&D. I love it but I definitely don't have any objections to learning a different version or of course Pathfinder if anyone's willing to bear with me! I prefer to play defensive melee characters. Please let me know if anyone's interested in drafting me for a game. Thanks!

I run three 4e pbps on these boards and would be happy to add you to an alternates list if spaces come up in any of them. People do have to drop out from time to time and one game is now made up almost entirely of replacement players.
Take a look at the threads and see if they're offering the kind of games you might be interested in.
Forgotten Realms campaign - started out as Scepter Tower of Spellgard and this is the fourth adventure in a loosely related set.
Halls of the Mountain King - this is my (telescoped for pbp purposes) version of Open Design's adventure.
Bloodsong - this has been running over two years now with pretty much the same group. It's evolving as it goes. They are just reaching the end of their fourth adventure.

Also, what I learnt is that you have should make a Alias for your character when you either apply for a PBP when advertised and when roleplaying at that character. The stats are there and easy for the DM to access so he can do things like rolls and stuff in secret.
You can make alias' by looking into your account and there will be a option there to make them. I've had fun making a few Alias' and if you're interested you can click on my main Alias here and it'll have links to my alts.
Thanks for the advice! Should I wait for a DM to tell me how he/she wants the ability scores to be made or should I just go ahead and roll them and change if needed?
I'd wait, personally as you don't necessarily know what character you're going to be creating.
