Im building a background for a Kingmaker AP a buddy is gonna run and I need the name and a little background on any Barbarian groups near the APs setting.
Also I need to have a recent war said tribe or group may have been involved with over the last couple of decades or so.
Any Loremasters out there that can give me some help?
Eric

To be from, or to be enemies with?
Iobaria has lots of Barbarians, and this will get you moderately involved into the plot
Numeria has lots of Barbarians, but this won't get you very deep into plot (other than just as flavor / an excuse to be in the area)
But if you want to be really deeply interwoven into the plot, you want to interact with the "Tiger Lord Barbarians"... but it's hard to tell you specifics without becoming spoilerriffic
I'd go with Iobarian unless your GM likes messing with things.
Still, it's unclear: do you want to be a member of this Barbarian tribe? Or do you want to be a soldier/innocent that was attacked by this tribe?

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding, but this is what I seem to get:
- Your father/mother are members of a barbarian tribe.
- Your father left the tribe to go join a mercenary company, presumedly one from a civilized lands.
- That mercenary company lost several battles.
- You were raised as a (uncivilized) barbarian?
If you were born/raised as a barbarian, I would recommend being from Iobaria. Have your father hired out by one of the noble houses of Rostland (one of the component nations of Brevoy). He fought some border skimishes with what you were told is "Numeria" (his company was selected because they have experience fighting Barbarians). Tell your GM to look up the influence of Tiger Lords, and he'll reveal the rest of the stuff to you about your father's past as you play through the game. :-)
I would recommend you ask your GM to print out the Iobaria chapter from AP #33 (the third kingmaker book). There's nothing in there that a PC shouldn't be able to see. Looking through that stuff should give you all the material you need.
