In another thread, gaming con veterans drove home that trail mix is the perfect con snack, so I picked myself up a few bags. The thing is, I'm worried I might kill somebody with all the nuts.
Anyone on here heading to PaizoCon allergic to nuts?
Just don't share it with anyone who can't have any. Someone with an allergy should be on their guard anyway when taking random food that might contain their allergen. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Honestly, people with allergies are generally pretty wary and ask beforehand. My two gaming groups have both the nut allergies in them: one has someone with the tree nut allergy (especially brazil nuts, which would probably kill him) and the other has someone with the peanut allergy.
On the subject of trail mixes, it's easy to mix your own if you just hit Trader Joes and pick up whatever varieties of nuts and dried fruit suit your taste. That also makes it easy to share if you keep the fruit and nut mixes separate until you're about to eat them. (I'm used to making trail mix as a skiing snack, and have some dried fruit from my own trees.)

I just know nut allergies are particularly harsh. Some people can`t even be too close to someone that`s recently eaten nuts. Just wanted to make sure.
If you're that vulnerable, it probably makes more sense to avoid public gatherings rather than expect the entire world to adapt to your needs.

It's nice of you to consider those with allergies. My son has a severe peanut allergy, so I know it's something that needs to be taken very seriously. That said, those with allergies, especially severe allergies, tend to be very careful about accepting snacks that could pose a risk. And as Russ said, those unlucky enough to have ultra-severe allergies tend to be even more cautious.
Just don't throw the peanuts at anyone ;)
