Palid Plague Prisoner question

Scarab Sages 5/5

Hi while DMing a Pathfinder Society Organized play game, I ran scenario # 43 the Pallid Plague on last Thursday night. The party wizard cast color spray to disable the rogues guarding the disease laden flower filled cart. The rouges were then bound up. The party needed information. One of the players at the table had a LN cleric of Zon Kuthan.. He said that he would first have his character scoop out the rogue’s eyes, and then start asking them questions. How would you other DMs handle this situation?
Thanks

I would tell the player that that constitutes an evil act which would threaten his PC's alignment. If he wished to retire his now-evil character, he could continue with these actions. Suggest that the exact method and graphicness of the torturing be handwaved for the benefit of possibly squeamish fellow players (or yourself) and let the PC make an Intimidate roll. When it comes down to it, gouging a rogue's eyes out doesn't guarantee anything, and he'd still have to make a roll to see what he found out.

On a personal note, I have an 11th level LN monk Kuthite that I've been playing for nearly two years now. I decided early on to make her interpret ZK's tenets of faith as instructions for her to do to herself, and she rigorously puts herself through terribly painful experiences in order to improve herself, hoping to gain her deity's blessings. She frequently uses Stunning Fist and non-lethal damage to cause her foes more pain without killing them. I have tried very hard to play her as LN and not LE despite her faith, and I think I've succeeded. Perhaps you could discuss with the player after the game some ways in which he could maintain his PC's flavor but avoid future situations in which other GMs or players felt uncomfortable with his roleplaying choices.

That was awesome advice Yoda.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Yoda8myhead, thanks for your advice.

I informed the player that his act would be an evil act, and that if he persisted in having his character commit evil acts, over time his character's alignment would shift to evil. He said that your the DM. I didn't get into, what i thought was going to be a long conversation because i didn't want the game to grind to a halt and we were running short on time.
