Male Human Inquisitor 1

Augusto slings his blade, steps back and draws his bow, nocking an arrow, Hissing

"By the gods! What a horrible cargo!

I'm not sure myself. But for our purposes, consider it to "stack" - use it x1.5 damage with flurry.

Fendrel begins to laugh hollowly and mechanically. "Bring it, beasties!" he yells with a voice dancing on the border of madness. He swings hard into the packed mass of flesh.

Attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Damaged: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Scarab Sages

You two at the back can't hit anything. Are you planning on delaying till I step back?

The heroes in the back rank steel themselves for the fight while the undead shamble forward.

Rondu swings his staff but misses.

The lacedon claws at Rondu ...

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4- MISS

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 - MISS

Hagruk swings and almost cuts the lacedon in half. Now held together by a bit of gristle and skin, it somehow continues to fight.

Round 3 !

Combat Map

Male Human Inquisitor 1

5 foot step back, to allow Hagruk some room to step back as well

Ranged attack
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Dmg1d6 ⇒ 6

This is aimed at the monster that Hagruk cleaved

Fendrel will delay his turn until Hagruk moves back, then move into the space formerly occupied by Hagruk and attack.

Attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Damaged: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

M Dwarf Monk 1

[]Rondu strikes a the crippled ghoul with his quarterstaff then follows it up with a kick.[/i]

Flurry:
- Staff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 111d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

- Kick: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

"Kaboosh."

Is Hagruk waiting on me, and vice versa?

M Dwarf Monk 1

You may be waiting on Hagruk. Last I recall, he stepped back to let Fendrel take his spot at the front. He may be waiting to lay a heal on anyone who needs it.

Scarab Sages

Yeah, sorry. I thought I'd been assumed to have stepped out last round, to let a fighter at the back in.

It's important they have their action readied, so I don't leave a gap for the ghouls to exploit.

If I'm still at the front, then I'll take my attack and step back.

Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Potential confirm 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Damage 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 1 = 8
Potential crit damage 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 1 = 8

If I'm already at the back, I'll cast Protection from Evil on whoever stepped into my place (who will have dropped to my Initiative).

Scarab Sages

"Kaboosh."

You might want to roll to confirm with that.

I just roll my confirmations at the same time, just in case.

Sorry, no update from me until tomorrow morning.

Scarab Sages

I'm off to PaizoCon UK today, but I'll try to keep looking in on the thread.

M Dwarf Monk 1

I thought about rolling to confirm the crit, but I didn't think that undead are susceptable to crits. Is Pathfinder different from 3.5 in that regard? I will roll my confirmation jsut in case.

Kick crit confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Augusto steps back and shoots at the zombie at the threshold, obliterating what's left of it.

Lacedon #3 shoves itself into the doorway

Fendrel waits for Hagruk's move ...

Rondu jabs and kicks at lacedon #3. It staggers back but is pushed forward by its morbid brethren.

Hagruk finishes off lacedon #3 and steps back.

Fendrel takes Hagruk's place in the front.

I'm not sure about the rules regarding undead and crits, but I think they should be subject to it.

Round 4!

Combat Map

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Augusto mutters a prayer to Erastil

"Guide my aim, master of the hunt! I Smite these creatures in your name!"

Ranged Attack
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Dmg
1d6 ⇒ 5

M Dwarf Monk 1

Rondu yells wordlessly and smashes at the nearest zombie with a combo staff strike and kick.

"AARRRRGH"

Flurry:
- Staff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 201d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

- Kick: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Fendrel continues his relentless assault against the undead foes, his face contorted into a pained grimace.

Attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Damage:1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

With a prayer to his god on his lips, Augusto looses his arrow and hits (lacedon #5.)

Fendrel misses.

The undead throng shambles forward.

Rondu whacks lacedon #8 on the head. It is fazed but momentarily

Hagruk catches his breath.

Next round!

Combat Map

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Another Bow attack, at the Sam Monster

atk
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
dmg
1d6 ⇒ 6

M Dwarf Monk 1

Flurry against the same target.

Flurry:
- Staff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 211d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

- Kick: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 121d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

As the battle rages, Fendrel continues to swing, focusing only on the subtle movements of the battle.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

M Dwarf Monk 1

Fendrel, based on your last few attack rolls you might need to focus more broadly ;) Don't you hate it when your dice run cold?

Augusto shoots and misses.

Fendrel misses.

Lacedon #8 tries to push past Rondu ...

(I'll roll Rondu's AoO against it.)

Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 - MISS

Lacedon pushes ...

Combat Maneuver 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 - FAIL

Rondu brings his staff down hard on the offending ghoul. It collapses and does not get back up.

New round!

Combat Map

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Augusto Growls

"Curse these Evil undead!

atk
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
dmg
1d6 ⇒ 5

M Dwarf Monk 1

Flurry against the nearest bad guy. Rondu will target a wounded guy, if that is possible. Note that Rondu has combat relexes, so he gets up to 4 AoOs.

Flurry:
- Staff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 111d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

- Kick: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 201d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Scarab Sages

Back from PaizoCon yesterday, and catching up on other stuff till now. Just have me readied to cure anyone who needs it.

Got it. Hope you had a great time :)

Second verse, same as the first. Going to make an attack that will probably fail.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Behind you a familiar voice says, "keep them contained. I happen to have just what we need." It is Osprey, your Pathfinder contact. He holds up a staff so black it seems to consume the light around it. He repeats an eldritch command word and each time he says it several of the undead become paralyzed and tip over into the water.

Combat is now over

Fendrel takes a long moment to take a deep, calming breath before turning to Osprey.

"Might I ask what took you so long?" he says, each word having the impression of incredible restraint and care.

M Dwarf Monk 1

Sweating profusely, Rondu mops his brow, stows his staff and ambles over to Osprey with a hopeful look in his eye.

"Nasty critters. Fightin' em things is hard work. You didn't happen ta bring any beer along with that fancy shillelagh didja?."

"Didn't find your tablets yet. I figger if there on the boat, they're behind 'at door yonder or hidden somewhere hereabouts."

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Slinging his bow, Augusto make a short prayer to Erastil

"Aye! The assistance it greatly appreciated! i was getting low on arrows!"

Scarab Sages

"Time to see what those bloaters were hiding, I guess."

Along with the now-vanquished ghouls , the hold contains a small padlocked chest of wood and hardened leather. Inside, wrapped in moldering velvet, rest four tablets each crafted from a different material— copper, gold, lead, and black slate.

"Yes, these are the tablets we are looking for," says Osprey, obviously pleased. "Well done. And may I suggest we all leave this ship before the lacedons regain their mobility."

M Dwarf Monk 1

"You heard the man. Let's make like a tree and get outta here."

Rondu heads for the main deck and motions for his comrades to join him.

"Osprey, you gotta boat for alla us or we taking the rowboats we came in?"

"Meet me again at the Tails," Osprey says, smiling enigmatically. He then turns into a sea hawk - his namesake - and flies away.

Fendrel scoops up a few of the tablets and begins to walk out of the galley. "Mages," he mutters at Osprey's ostentatious performance.

M Dwarf Monk 1

[b]"I guess we'll be takin' the rowboats."[b/]

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Aye, the boats it is. I hope we have a simple trip back, i am beat"

The wearied heroes row back to the docks and make their way back to the Tail. There, Osprey leads them to a private booth, where the tablets are laid out and examined.

"These are forgeries of the ancient tablets that were used in rites during Old Azlant’s height. But the originals are long lost, and so even fakes are of priceless value. The previous owner was one Myraxus Threeshadows, a noted but aging sage and mystic. When Darsielle invaded Myrax's village days ago, he murdered the wizard and took the tablets."

M Dwarf Monk 1

"Now what?

Scarab Sages

"Now, we have that dinner, if it hasn't gone cold."

"Now you will take the tablets back to our experts in Absalom where they will learn even more about the ancient Azlanti languages. And though meddling in the affairs of nations is of no interest to the Society, by defeating Du Moire you have saved Andoran and Cheliax from entering a horribly pointless war. Congratulations, my friends!"
