So I do this thing in my games where I have the game advance until certain points. At these points I introduce new homebrew stuff. Now, inspired by a 3rd party bit I have decided to make non-evil extraplanar creatures that are small in size and appear devilish. In this case they are a race from a demi-plane off of the plane of shadow in my setting, which is very deadly. The demi-plane also links up with hell, which is where the PCs are going next. On the way I plan on them getting sidetracked and finding the Xarvak, the race I will introduce here.
The Xarvak are an interesting race to say the least. For one, their culture changes vastly with each new generation. Their current culture allows for cannibalism, despises thieves and betrayers above all else, and disallows devil worship because of what happened to the last generation. On their small plane the Xarvak stay, hoping that the rules will change again and they will not be hungry, or perhaps even that they will find some other place to live. This demi-plane that the Xarvak call Xiv is a strange and volatile mixture. Some days will last weeks in other planes, and some years will last months. Other times the area will be blasted with negative energy or the inhabitants will become horribly hungry or thirsty. The dark swirling mass of violent energy is something the Xarvak have not become used to, nor has anyone else who entered the plane.
The Xarvak are small creatures, about 3' to 3'6". They have impish features but with dark blue, black or green skin. Their legs resemble those of a bearded devil, their tails are thin with an arrowhead like fin, and they each have a pair of small horns of varying style and size. Their bodies are muscular and hairless. Their eyes glow in a variety of colors, but the most common are red, green and violet. They have two rows of sharp little teeth. Their internal anatomy is exceptionally strange, with metallic bones resembling black iron, extraneous muscles on the back that may have been meant to hold wings, and two hearts and livers.
Societies vary from time to time on Xiv, but it is rare that the Xarvak hate visitors or traveling. The typical Xarvak is adventurous not because of a desire for adventure, but to get away from his home plane.
Xarvak reproduction is not something done for pleasure. In fact, it is more akin to a blood sacrifice. The body or body parts of a Xarvak are thrown into a pool of what is known as "Sky-Ink" to the denizens. Some time later, new Xarvak will crawl from the pool, more if the amount of Xarvak flesh inserted was greater. It is considered a duty to provide for this pool once during a Xarvak's life or shortly after they die. In some of their old culture, Xarvak being punished for a crime would have a part chopped off and tossed into the Sky-Ink, and then the newly born Xarvak would beat them.
Alignment: Xarvak are varied in their alignments, but as a general rule most are not evil, since they seldom seek to take advantage of others or injure them except when provoked.
Small size Outsider (shadow)
30ft movement
+2 Dex +2 Con -2 Int
Darkvision 60 ft
Inkblood (ex): A Xarvak has deathly poisonous blood and flesh. When swallowed whole, the ingestor takes 1 point of strength damage each round. The DC on the save is equal to 10+half the Xarvak's HD+ the Xarvak's Con modifier. Each round of ingestion counts as a new round of exposure.
Spell-like abilities: Protection from Evil 1/day, Detect Magic 1/day, Virtue 1/day
Evil's Bane (ex): Xarvak have an innate ability to fight evil outsiders, and enjoy a +1 bonus to attack rolls against them.
+2 on saves vs evil aligned spells.
Illiterate (ex): A Xarvak gains the illiterate class feature of the barbarian class, but he must spend the skill point despite taking levels in another class to be able to read.
Redundant Composition (ex): When taking physical ability score damage, a Xarvak reduces the damage by one each time to a minimum of one. The Xarvak's extra internal organs, extra functional muscle groups and iron bones let them take a great deal of punishment.

Rite of the Draconic Ancestors
Clr 4, sor/wiz 4, Drd 4
Target: 2 cups of blood per caster level
Effect: This spell transmutes the blood the caster touches into the blood of the draconic ancestor of the owner’s blood. This blood can be used for draconic infusions or for spells requiring the blood as a component. If the blood donor has no draconic ancestor the spell automatically fails.
Draconic Infusion:
By giving a target 2 cups of blood from a dragon, he changes their makeup to resemble that of a dragon’s. The target gains a number of draconic traits at random, but always gains the following:
+2 to one ability score.
Darkvision 60 ft (or +30 if already possessed)
Low light vision
Resistance 5 to the element of the dragon’s breath weapon
And a number of traits rolled randomly form the following list, 1 per age category of the dragon, with the same trait aside form natural armor or skill bonus being rerolled.
1. Two claw attacks of a size one size lager than the target
2. A bite attack of one size larger than the target
3. Resistance 10 instead of 5
4. Natural armor +1, grows scales like that of draconic parent.
5. +4 bonus on perception, intimidate, or spell craft checks, imbiber chooses, cannot have two bonuses to the same skill
6. Breath weapon dealing 3d6 damage of the dragon’s breath weapon as a ranged touch attack. If a spit/breath weapon is already possessed, change the element if necessary and increase its damage by 2 dice.
7. Natural Armor bonus +1
8. +2 bonus on saving throws vs. spells
9. +2 to one additional ability score (counts as two)
10. Gains a tail slap (like bite but grows a tail), tail gives +4 to acrobatics and swim checks
11. Gain Blindsense 5 ft
12. Grows the crest of the dragon, giving a +4 to intimidate and grants a free intimidate check against the target being charged once per combat when the recipient charges.
The infused must make a DC 15 fortitude save or reject the blood, and will die unless the blood is taken out of them in 1d6+1 days.
I also included the brown dragon (Desert dragon) in my list of colored dragons. I will be adding more.
