As the title implies, what's the official name of the campaign setting? I've always assumed it's Pathfinder Chronicles but a friend of mine keeps telling me it's just Pathfinder...

I believe that:

  • Pathfinder Chronicles is the "official" name of the campaign setting.
  • Golarion is the name of the world.
  • Just Pathfinder is the name of the RPG.

    ... but I could be wrong.

    When I'm referring to the campaign setting, I've always called it Golarion, but I think it's officially Pathfinder Chronicles.

    The way I've always figured it, is that Golarion is the name of the planet, Pathfinder Chronicles is the name of the campaign setting (just like Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, and the others all have cool names), and Pathfinder RPG is the name of the roleplaying game.

    More accurately, it is the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, no matter what setting you use. The Pathfinder Chronicles campaign setting is one possible setting for the game.

    The official campaign setting, though, is using the Pahtfinder Roleplaying Game (as the OP was asking about the campaign setting, not the game).
