I have a PDF of 100 new monsters that should be out this month by Alluria publishing. Each monster has its own original full color art work, some done by our very own Callous Jack, and you can check out the Alluria website for examples from the rest. There is one new monster to compliment each race in Alluria's Remarkable Races book, although only one requires the previous book to play.
A few examples are the ballista drake, the hagataur, leatherbound, and the plague dragon, along with many more.
My players will be quite happy that the monsters within will be terrorizing someone else's group, for a change.

Hell yes we will!! Those Blade horrors were horrible, evil abominations.. that were all kinds of awesome!! The artwork that goes along with this book is breathtaking, and I can't wait to download my copy when it comes out... The end of May's just around the corner! Congrats, all that hard works gonna pay off soon.

(And of course, I have to ask, any chance of seeing your art turn into minis for this set?)
Working with Callous Jack was both a pleasure and honor. The publisher asked if I knew anyone who could pick up some of the extra art, and I knew just where to turn. Everything I have see so far has looked great!
I would love to see 3pp stuff, or Superstar are turned into minis but unless someone does it for fun, I don't see it happening. The though still makes me smile...

This just in from my publisher:
"just to let you know that things are still progressing, just slowly. The layout guy took off for the holiday,(wait...we get time off? S)which pushed his finish date forward, but we should see a near complete draft very soon. Sorry that this is taking so long, but this is really the most massive project Alluria has ever undertaken. 101 monsters, 101 color illustrations....sheesh...how does anyone ever put out monster books?
Well, I will keep you updated. It may be going slow, but we are 95% there!"
Sighs..well thats out of my hands..but it is an update. In the meantime I am working on a whole new set of monsters...if I can find a publisher brave enough to tackle them ;-)

Still stuck with the title?

I could post mine but I wasn't sure I needed permission.

I would say post away...they were working on a web page with more art, but I think the teasers are worth putting up now. I for one can't wait to see your work...

One more time for the slow guy; is this coming out in hardback or just PDF? I want it either way, of course. This looks killer, and great artwork. Please try to push the release for the sake of us impatient GMs who really love monsters that stump our veteran PCs.
I also want to support the idea of creating minis to reflect the new monsters, or at least a few. I think I just ordered about every miniature that was available on this site [gross exageration :-)].

right now its just pdf..but Alluria is working on making dead tree editions of most of their stuff. The local gaming store owner has said he would chip in for print on demand editions, so I will look into that more once the pdf is out.
HEH..I love the virus..

Paper mini's is the way to go.
I can't believe every monster book doesn't already include these. It just makes sense and would be a huge selling point IMHO.
See my group never use paper minis and only rarely use normal ones, simply because of time constraints on my part. I dont see paper minis being added to the main release, simply because of time, but it may be sometime to think about adding in...

Just saw the near complete draft, and all I can say is WOW. I have always firmly believed that one of the main selling points for a book like this is the art. Its what you see when you 1st flip through the book at a store, and its what makes you jump in, or put it back. The art in this is simply amazing..I am blown away.
There are a few small tweaks left to do, nothing too hard, so it should not be a much longer wait. Trust me..it will be well worth it.

He's not exaggerating! I got to look over his shoulder as he got his first look at it.. :-D You can tell that everyone who worked on this loves what they do, and it SHOWS!

Oh well, I guess they wanted to be complete. Maybe SOMEONE out there will use them. I am off on vacation for the next week, but I will try to check in at the local coffee/internet shop in NC. IF the book should come up buyable while I am up there, let people know on here and have Urizen post the actual link..Bc he is secreatly my charmed minion...

Don't be fooled. The reason why paper mini's don't get used is convenience. If you
make them quick and easy to use hen they will be used. Also, encounter charts are fun. They fill space in the book and will see use. Not every veteran uses them, but you're not always selling a product to veterans.
It wouldn't hurt to include a page of miniaturized artwork that could be printed off and cutt up. I for one would appreciate it. An encounter chart would see use by me as well. Like I said, they're fun.
Looking forward to the final product. Thanks for all your hard work.

I know! I was trying to counter the arguement that paper mini's would be a waste of time. I'm a huge fan of them, but I also have an F ton of mini's. If a book came with them I'd use those paper min's over my plastic one's.
