Has anyone had success using cold or hot lamination with laminated pouches using 3x5 or 4x6 cards? If so, is the a specific product you would recommend that would allow using permanent marker, pen, etc. that could be cleaned off for future use?
I would creates cards for magic items, inventory, etc. and would like them to accept permanent marker, to be wiped off at a later date to be re-used.
I have not used any type of lamination process, except for our local library.

I'm cheap.
My method is to use "penny sleeves" for baseball cards. They're called penny sleeves because a pack of 100 costs about a buck. They're robust enough to last a good while. Just close the top with some scotch tape and you're good to go for many sessions. The card underneath WILL slide just a little, so if you want to "go big" you can check out the Ultrapro sleeves for baseball cards and CCGs. These are a bit more snug, and a lot more durable, but you're paying something like $8 for a pack of 60. There's also a larger sleeve that has its own fold-over flap and adhesive that should work for a larger sized card.
This is going to require you to use smaller sized cards than 3x5s, but I think if you just cut each card in 2 you should be good - standard CCG cards are 2-ish by 3-ish. You'd definitely want to check out and see if you are okay with the smaller size first though. Any baseball card or gaming store should have lots of these.
