Question About the Banquet

PaizoCon General Discussion

Liberty's Edge

I understand you need to have purchased tickets to attend the banquet, which we have done. Do we still need to select the banquet as one of our events or is having the tickets all we need to do?

No other Saturday night events are shown, so from that I can surmise that you just have to show up with ticket.
I was rather hoping there would be events for non-ticket holders as I am one.

Dark Sasha is correct. Just show up with your banquet ticket and go right in.

I'm kind of surprised by that, too, actually. I had assumed even if there weren't any lottery events scheduled during that time, there'd still be some open events like Pathfinder Society games going. But apparently not. You should still be able to drum up a game with others who aren't attending the banquet, though.

PFS events and the larger capacity events won't be posted until after the first round lottery; they will also be handled in a first come first served basis according to the Paizo blog. I imagine there will be events that parallel the banquet times.

I thought they already had them listed on the Open Events tab. They have dates and times listed for all the PFS scenarios, at least. I checked because I was curious about when "The Faithless Dead" would be run. I might want to sit in and just observe that one, as I don't have a PFS character high enough to participate...and I assume it wouldn't be fair for the actual author to play in his own scenario. ;-)

There are no other scheduled events during the banquet. However, the open gaming area is open 24 hours a day during the Con.

d'oh! I missed the open events tab. Time to view some more goodies.

Thanks!

We kind of got away from the original question though:

When we are picking our priority numbers (0 - 4), do we need to actually select the banquet as one of our events or is having the tickets all we need to do? In other words, it is listed under the Lottery tab ... is it actually going to be in the lottery or is having a ticket all you need?

Do not select the banquet. In fact, I'm going to ask Ross to remove it from the lottery.

Actually, I ran Boomer (playing as a pre-gen) through Hands of the Muted God last year. If I wind up running "The Faithless Dead," I would love to have you at my table!

EDIT: Nope, looks like I'm running something else. You're still welcome at the table, tho!

Heh. Very awesome. Mostly, I just want to observe how "The Faithless Dead" plays out with a full group of PFS players and how they react at the table. ...yes, I live vicariously through others sometimes...
