That is too bad. Most people don't know that he had a history of strokes and in his 60's he had a real bad one that caused him to pretty much loose the use of his right hand. This was bad as he was right handed. In order to keep painting and drawing he taught himself to use his left hand so that he could keep working. He said his talent didn't come from his had, it came from being able to see what he wanted to paint. It was just a matter of teaching himself to put it down on canvas with his left hand. A truly amazing master of the art who will be greatly missed. Some of my favorite paintings are done by him.

Sad news, indeed.
I wonder how many of us were turned on to fantasy/sci-fi literature and gaming by his art?
If not Frazzeta's art itself, then any of the legions of artists who were heavily influenced by his work.
Whether it was Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell, or Gerald Brom, or etc. etc., a lot of those roads lead back to Frank Frazzeta.
