Looking for PbP DM for Serpent's Skull Prequel and AP

Gamer Connection

Silver Crusade

Shortly after starting a prequel for the Serpent's Skull AP, our DM vanished. We'd like to find a compatible DM willing to commit to the AP. Our DM was using the Pathfinder Society Adventure "Mists of Mwangi" as a prequel/trial run, but we are up for trying a different adventure if you would like.

The group members include NSpicer (as Jonagher Witt), Sully (as Leofrik Forthwind), Curn_Bounder (as Torden Ironcask), hedgeknight (as Bran Morigon), and me (as Origen Leanthris). The details of our profiles and characters are in the threads below.

All of us think that the group was off to a good start, and we'd like to keep it going. Please let us know if you are interested.

Hey guys, I really feel bad for you. I've never seen 3+ pages on just character creation/discussion only to have the DM disappear. I currently DM a PbP (Legacy of Fire) and I think I have the Mists of Mwangi in my .pdf collection (I will check tonight, as I am at work). Well, here's my PbP thread to see if you think we would mesh. My current players seem to enjoy it....at least that's what they tell me! :) Legacy of Fire. If not, good luck on finding a DM!

Thanks, Lucendar! I've been following your LoF PbP, and I like the added material. I'd be happy to try playing with you as GM, so let me ask the group.

Either you lead a charmed PbP life or I lead a cursed one. I've been in 5 PbPs, and the DM has quit in every one of them, some more graciously than others. Witness this thread which ran to 4 pages of character creation, only to have the DM quit before ever starting the IC thread! :P

No, Joana, I'm not charmed, just new to this PbP genre I guess. I DM one and play in two of them. Wow, 4 pages of thread and you don't make it to the IC thread, that must suck! I did not know this happened as often as it did.

Hi Lucendar! I'd love to keep the game going, and if you are interested in jumping in - well I'm for it! I've been enjoying your LoF thread as well, so I think it would be great to game with you.

Hey Joana - you guys had some neat characters there...same as us. I've been in several games on here and almost all of them have died before they started. A couple I left because the posting was at a crawl and going nowhere and all but one of those has died as well.

Lucendar, are you suggesting we join your current group? Or did you just offer that link for us to get a feel for your style?

No, no, the latter. I've got enough players in that game! LOL...

I was hoping it was the latter! LOL

Thanks, Sully, I just try and keep it fun for the players. You seem to be a pro in this genre so thanks for the compliment. Now, I must announce my one shortcoming: Maps. Usually, I scan them in and then alter them with Paint, but updating them round after round with everyone's position, with tokens for player's characters and layering them and all that fancy stuff....yeah, I know nothing of that. I envy those DMs who know how to do that. So be warned.

I do the same in my game - I usually scan in or paste a map in Paint and put a few dots on it or letters for characters and enemies and go with it. It doesn't have to be professional to work. All the players need is a rough visual and their minds will do the rest.

Wow,

First, I would like to say that I sincerely hope the Doc is okay.

I would like to apply for the job of DM.

I have been gaming for 13 years, have been DM'ing for 10, and have run just about everything under the sun as far as systems go.

The one sticky wicket here, is that I have never DM'd a PbP. I know that there are several differences between this and actual table-top, but I would like to try this if y'all are willing.

I have the adventure you are running through currently, and I am interested by the possibilities that the upcoming AP has to provide.

If chosen, I can commit to running this all the way through, and will provide personal contact information so that these kind of things may be avoided in the future.

Please let me know if you are so interested.

Wow...almost harder applying for this than any of the player positions...

Anyway, thank you for your time and patience.

Thanks, DM Berwick! I'm really happy that we have two experienced DMs who are interested in the group.

I think that Lucendar and you could both run a great game, so I'm glad that I'm not the ultimate arbitrator. The most equitable solution is probably a player vote.

NSpicer, Sully, hedgeknight, and Curn_Bounder, if the rest of you are in agreement with this, please vote by noon tomorrow, either here or in the other thread. Also, if you have any questions for Lucendar or DM Berwick (e.g., when do you think that you as DM could restart?), please post them.

I'll make it easy and drop out of contention. I felt sorry that you guys had made characters and gone through all that and wanted to help you out, but it looks like you guys will be fine and in good hands with DM Berwick, so have fun!

I really appreciate your willingness to jump in. I'm sorry that we won't have a chance to play with you, but please keep lurking--I'm planning to do the same on your LoF game.

Looks like you da man, DM Berwick. Thanks for your willingness to run for us! Let's move further discussion to the OOC thread linked below.
