The funny thing is that one of the characters in my campaign is starting out as being in an advanced age category. I'm looking forward to killing him with old age.
I recently made an old NPC. Retired campaigner (levels in fighter) then went to explore the world in search of enlightenment (monk levels). Those penalties and bonuses add up (though if the monk is high enough in level, those penalties aren't such a big thing anymore). Human, sixty five years of age, with a speed of 60. Crazy cool. :D

The more I think of it, the more I really, REALLY like the concept behind the "gang war" scenario. It could be really powerful if the PCs know not just one, but BOTH of the would-be Guildmasters and end up in the middle of that conflict.
Kingmaker is the first AP since Age of Worms to really get my juices flowing in this way... thinking really long-term and foreshadowing stuff way ahead of time. I'm only 2 issues in and I'm thinking this could be my favorite AP so far.

My Kingmakers are all 16 year-old half-siblings, but they haven't been given the charter yet. Heck, we're four sessions in to the campaign and they have yet to kill a person*. We started with Crypt of the Everflame and ended up in Into the Haunted Forest (which has a perfect adventure hook for a group of rowdy 16 year-olds out on their own for the first time. At this point, they've become obsessed with returning a hobgoblin corpse to the hobgoblins -- yeah, there are civilized hobgoblins in my campaign world. They ride rhinos with barding, too. They also apparently made a huge impact on my players in CoCT (stand-ins for the Shoanti) -- so I have absolutely no idea when they'll get into the AP proper.
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the characters grow up. I have a good group of players who love character development, so this should be a fun one.
