Smite Good

The Exchange

So we've houseruled an evil variant of the paladin for our group and a question came up about Smite Good: If the paladin gets double smite damage against undead, evil outsiders, and evil dragons, then an evil paladin would get double damage against good outsiders, good dragons, and.... We honestly can't think of the undead equivalent for smite good. Living targets would be far too common for it to be balanced..

Any suggestions?

Good aligned paladins, clerics and oracles

Just good outsiders and good dragons. There is a whole lot less good in the world then evil.

A good paladin doesn't get extra smite damage versus a blackguard or evil cleric after all, unless it's undead or an outsider or whatever of course.

The resurrected? Undeath is a corruption/mockery of resurreciton, yes?

Any target that exudes an aura of Goodness, thus including any Good-aligned cleric.

Wouldn't normal paladins then have the same effect on evil clerics? Not that I'm trying to troll, just wondering how that would balance?

Edit: Clarification

Dark Archive

why not for good fey? (since i do see a fair number of good fey and not that many evil fey)
